The soundcard is great but I don't know anything about the headset you've chosen, I use Sennheiser PC350's myself and they're great for gaming, can you get OC3D's headset of 2011 the Steelseries 7H?

Thanks for your feedback, what makes the STX not that suitable for gaming?
The STX is brilliant for everything, I think he was saying its overkill. How into audio are you? The STX is top of the line so unless you really really care about audio quality it wont be worth it for you. Also to take advantage of that card you will need some decent cans, no "gaming" headset will ever need a soundcard that good.
I have the STX paired with beyerdynamic dt-990s and the sound quality is amazing. If you want the best sound possible go with the STX and some decent cans, something made by beyerdynamic, Dennon, audio technica, [font="Verdana, sans-serif, FreeSans"]Sennheir etc will be good. But it costs a lot...[/font]
[font=Verdana, sans-serif, FreeSans]If you arent massively into audio then you can spend a whole lot less and get an asus xonar DX and some Sennheiser HD 280s and clip on/desk mike and still have great quality. Whatever you get just dont get something marketed as a gaming headset because you can always to better with proper cans for the same or less money.[/font]

The STX is perfectly suitable for gaming but with something like a gaming soundcard you will get those gimmicky (imo) features like louder footsteps and such, while they do work to a degree they take away from the detail and clarity or the game sounds. The STX will re-create every sound that is suppose to be in the game perfectly fine and accurately same goes for your music.
I honestly wouldn't go for that headset though, it is a great headset from customer/reviewer standpoint (I don't own them) but it is in the simplest way to explain it a "bottleneck" to that soundcard. While you won't loose anything by using it with that soundcard you will not be getting the most you possibly can from that card.
Something like the above mentioned PC350 would be a great choice as the STX has a built in AMP that will drive those cans perfectly plus it is from the reputable sennheiser. But like Perturabo said no gaming headset will match that card. I would go for something like he mentioned possibly the ATH M50's and a desk mic.
Also note that the STX to my knowledge comes with a single 6.3mm / 1/4" jack to 3.5mm / 1/8" jack so you would need to buy another one of those if you get anything that doesn't come with a adapter or compatible jack

Solid recommendation.
Have 280s and although should be selling it a Xonar DG - it lacked slightly but I think 280s with a DX or next model up if you're paticularly fussy and you've got everything a human is going to need for anything. Only a machine or Gok Wan are going to notice anything more accurate than that combo.
280s are 64 ohm impedance, too, they've been really clear and loud - can use them as speakers without even maxing the volume slider (software). 280s don't have very powerful bass, but they do have a very clean bass - not a hint of distortion.

If you are using those headphones that sound card is overkill beyond belief. Even cheap onboard audio will not sound any different with those headphones. That sound card is meant for expensive music headphones, not stiff cone gaming headphones.

But it Def over kill for the SteelSeries Siberia V2.But not overkill for any headphone that benefit from being amped.
