a few months ago my old phatty PS3 died (RLOD) on me. i baked it, and it was fixed until today
skyrim has caused it the BLUE SCREEN several times. arrrgh! i thought "okay - here we go again". but, on many times, powering off and leaving it a while and then switching back on, seemed to work for hours of play with no qualms.
okay, the constant stuttering of gameplay was starting to get in my nerves, but as i was enjoying the game so much, i put up with it.
upon frantically searching the net, i have found that this may not be a overheating problem - but a bloating of gamesaves problem. this is to be fixed with the next patch on all systems.
i am the type of player who does not overwrite gamesaves of RPG games. just in case i mess up a game's timeline and have to backtrack. so, i probably had 20-30 gamesaves in skyrim alone.
i can understand if my ps3 had the original 60GB HDD in it, but it didn't. i upgraded it to a 500GB a few years back.
i am utterly fooked off with sony now (as they verified the game as 'safe' for all PS models before releasing the game) and, a very good game has probably cost me the extra expense of upgrading to a slimline PS3.
(not a happy bunny) 100s of hours of game progress will be lost (again). something that cannot be replaced
i do not think PS3s can be 'baked' more than once
gutted
back to worldoftanks it is then - lol
