Random Epox update

Being the Epox fan I am, I`ve been in touch with them and got a couple nuggets info. I aint been asked to keep my mouth shut so:

There was talk of a new Epox PCI-E 32 board coming out, and I saw a couple pics. It had 2 chipsets, so i`m not sure what the other one was for coz I`m a bit out of touch.

I saw that the board just happened to have a few ideas implemented that I just happened to offer them a few months ago (;)) and asked about them. Reply was that these boards are engineering samples only and they`re concentrating on putting these ideas (not mine per se, just the ideas used in the x32 board) into the AM2 board, and they`re hoping to have the boards out when the CPUs launch to get their foot in the door sharpish.

VDIMM is still off the 3.3V rail (no good now, for DDR2 will be great) good spacing between the PCI-E slots and ATA/SATA slots quite far up the board for full tower cases. Still seems to have the COM ports of the existing mobos, but they might yet go with a fan blowing over the VRMs (great for dust collection)

There ya go...another useless update!

Ooo Kenny do you think they'll offer you a job next? :D

Interested to know more about the two chipsets? Any particular reason you're such an Epox fan? I've never had a Epox board - guess I'm missing out eh!

I`d settle for endorsement :p Kinda tempted to ask for one of those engineering samples, even if I have to buy it.

Dunno why I like Epox- my Epox 9NDA3+ was my first 939 board and my first real overclocking board, and I learned a lot on/from it. Cant explain it. part of it might be coz they`re underdogs?

I`d say you`re missing out, but I dont think theres any bad 939 boards out there, esp NF4, just different levels of greatness and slightly different markets.

The 2nd chipset will be the standard ULI M1696 which enbles you to have 2x full spped PCI-E lanes for the GPU's (it's also the reason why SLI runs on the M1697 chipset so well - nvidia had to write software to communicate with both chipsets and sli).

Be inetersting to see as they have all proposed June 6th release for AM2 and corresponding new CPU's.
