Random artifacting and crashes

Been having some problems; i'll start with a rundown of my rig (the relevant bits anyway)

P4 2.8c @ 3.6 (257*14)

2x 512 Corsair XMS4000 Pro

Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro

Prometeia Mach I

Basically, I woke up this morning (after a long night of problem-free Counterstriking) and at this clock speed, i'm suddenly getting major graphics corruption and colour screw-uppage (especially with the Source engine). I go back to stock everything on the CPU and the corruption stops but pretty much everything crashes. All rather annoying, I just find it odd that not 8 hours after having no problems, everything's going wrong - anyone have any ideas?

Nope, it's sat at stock- in fact underclocked it slightly to see if it wasn't liking it's own stock speeds; the effect of underclocking while there was one, was minimal. I say stock, but what I mean really is slightly below stock because about three months ago it decided it would become unstable unless I underclocked it to a degree- not an ideal solution but it seemed to work.

and of course youve locked the agp and pci to 66/33 mhtz and if so all i can suggest is gettin a better heatsink on that gc what temp is it

You most probably have but I'll say it anyway - Do you have good contact between the gpu and cooler. I had a bit of a problem when I had a 9800pro with the artic silver with not getting great contact. Thats probably just me being me though...

Yeah been running the cooler for a while- no probs before now so not gonna be that, and yes by AGP/PCI ratio is setup properly...hmm
