Rampage edition 10 6850k PROBLEM

Recently Bought the rampage edition 10 with the 6850k and 32gb of corsair dom (CMD16GX4M2B3200C16) at 3200 16-18-18-36 ram and been having problems. The first 6850k i got had hit the memok button every time i wanted it to post and go to windows. It did 4.4ghz at 1.34 on the vcore and the ram was just set to xmp. Decide to return the 6850k for another which turn out to be worst. It would boot the xmp profile at 4.0ghz but wont stay stable. even bump the vcore to 1.35 and the unicore to 1.25 and still fail at aida. Though it was a memory issue so i clear the cmos and ran the ram at default the the cpu at 4ghz with 1.35v and still crash on aida. Is it just that bad of a cpu? or am i doing something wrong here. Also anyone else with a rampage edition 10 have a weird sec of power buzz sound followed by a sec of what seem to be power lost during the board boot up?
 
Why are you just smashing 1.35v in?

Why in gods name did you send a 4.4ghz cpu back? Thats rare for a Broadwell-E!!!

TBH fella you need to go back to basics rather than just smashing settings in and hoping for the best.

Only problem here is holding a mouse from the sounds of things.
 
I was wondering why he sent a 4.4ghz Broadwell-E back too.
every where i read 42-44 at 1.35 is norm at 1.3v is is rare,maybe i was wrong just wouldnt boot with my ram without hitting memok every time so i chance it on another chip . i didn't just smash in 1.35v i started from 1.2 all the way to 1.35 and it wouldn't get stable at 4.0 >.>
 
You realise that 32GB of 3200mhz ram is a big ask right? And will likely need manual intervention to set up correctly?
 
^^ Exactly. Try My 64GB. At 3000MHz it took Literally FOREVER to dial in. I won a lottery though and hit 4.4GHz Core / 3000MHz Mem / 3000MHz CPU Cache stable. with VERY reasonably low voltages. This board is literally like TTL said in his review. It taunts you when overclocking like it just has massive head room, but don't feel like it absolutely needs it.

I would suggest doing what TTL advises in most his overclocking videos and find your lowest required voltages first for your CPU. make that your base, then bump up ever so slowly with the volts. It's tedious, but the old school method does work.

Sending a 4.4Ghz 6850k back will likely be a regret for you.

I don't notice any buzzing what so ever aside from GPU coil whine when gaming >80FPS

You may want to loosen your memory timings as well. Those seem pretty tight at 3200. I run 15-17-17-35 on the 64GB 3000 Kit. I may be wrong, but you should definitely not have to hit the "Mem OK" button every boot.

Ok so i went to microcenter and returned both the mobo/cpu n got another mobo which fix the issue and grab a 6900k instead. So far with the ram on 2133 i got it stable at 4.3 on 1.29v. Goin to keep pushing it to see how far ill get. The next issue is the ram. Never messed with that b4, usually leave it on xmp. How do i go about the timming. Btw im using a hx 1050 from corsair. Atm im at 4.4 1.29v 45min on aida so far

Well since you are already OC'ing the CPU. What I would do is enter the stock timings the memory is rated for out of the box, but start at 2133, then boot. If that works, then go to 2400, then repeat until you hit the max speed it's rated for, or till it doesn't boot. Just know that the harder you OC the CPU, harder time it'll be for you to get the memory at it's max speed. it's a trade off, gotta give and take

havent tryed 4.5 yet and memory at 3200 boots up tp window loadscreen but wont boot to windows

Dumb question... But how is that?. Either OC your CPU to the max or have your RAM to the advertised/rated OC?

Ok pased a aida 10h test so its def stable with average temp across all cores being 55. Now is there a way to get the rated memory to 3200

Thats not really something anyone can tell you unless they your system on hand for some trial and error. Short answer is no if its still that 3200mhz 32GB. Read up on some guides. Plenty around. If you want to OC, you cant just punch in some numbers and expect everything to work.

You can have both, but you'll need to raise volts along with really fine tuning everything.

Yeah there is, i didn't mention volts, I should have in hindsight. OC'ing got much more complicated with Haswell and up. Since they added so many different things you can raise volts for and there's not a lot of really good info and watch each does specifically and what is considered to high/safe for the CPU.
