RAM position on GTX 512MB

Saw somehting today whilst scanning through the WWW - all 512MB of ram is on the front of the new 512MB GTX.

This is very good news for me and other people who have all-in-one RAM/GPU coolers (such as Phils new DD 7800 blocks) as we do not have to worry bout the ram at the back overheating when we start to push the clocks to their limits - which if you look at the 256meg version, is what you would have expected.

Great news and one more reason to buy........ when the price is right

Seems logical, the cooler is so big you couldn't have an SLI if they put the memory on the back because of the RAM sinks.

Talking of RAM cooling, have you seen the new RAM sinks from Swiftech?

Supposed to beat OCZ style ones by over 6C from what they've posted on their site.

Looks good for waterblock users as they shouldnt need such focussed airflow.

Nice spot Mav, now those NV78 blocks make a bit more sense.

If you cool the core with a dual headed prom no need to cool the ram at all as the cold spreads over the whole card (smack!)

Depends how much VGPU and VDD you're using.

But for us lesser mortals those ramsinks and the new ram position for the NV78 waterblock should be good

Nvidia changed out the RAM for the 512MB version of the 7800GTX...so the current NV-78 will need a revision for this card. Stay tuned and we'll try to get one out soon.

I'll have to wait that little bit longer, hope they will make an SLI version for this one aswell. Will EP-UK be gettin these in?
