Radiator question

Hello people,

I thought about doing my first custom loop with a Haswell CPU,
started looking at guides, threads and that kind of stuff
but I haven't really found a answer to this question yet

Is one Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 240mm enough for a CPU and GPU loop?
probably something like a 4770k at 4.2 - 4.4 and a 7970

would be glad to hear a yes because I can only fit this one rad in my case and i really like my current case

Probably not, everything I've seen in Tom's videos suggests you need a 60mm thick 360mm rad for a loop with the most recent GPU and CPU. Two 240mm rads would probably do the trick

No it will be not enough for that mate.
Slim 240 will be just just enough for the CPU, but not on heavy OC.
For CPU and GPU, you have to go minimum full size 360, which mean 60mm thick rad.

ok thanks for the input, gotta get a new case then :/
so what about a 360 45 thick + 240 45 thick?

Why are you stick to this 45mm???
Yes that will be enough, but if you gonna buy new case why not to buy one that support full size rads???

Because I'm kinda picky with cases and haven't found one yet that would fit two 60mm rads without modding very much

Been thinking about the Bitfenix Shinobi XL (windowed)
Well money isn't that much of a problem, if I find a case i really like i'm gonna buy it :P

yeah that one also looks quite nice
well, we'll see
gonna to the rig with haswell so quite some time left till i'm gonna order everything

thanks tho

the 240x45 alphacool rad did my 2500k at 5ghz with very respectable temps, never above 60 degrees. if you want to keep the case you have now just mod another 240 in the front and you should be able to handle the cpu and a gpu.

Yeah unfortunately the lower harddrive cage is riveted (hope thats the right word, sorry if not) and not just screwed.
I don't have any tools nor the knowledge to really do anything except removing screws D:
