Rad size for a loop

I'm sure there are loads of these threads but if you don't mind answering another I will be grateful.

I've got a mod planned and it will involve watercooling. I will be cooling an E8400 which will be overclocked as far as possible and also either an 8800GT or 8800GTS (depending on funds) which will probably be OC'd.

The planned components are the D-Tek Fuzion CPU block, Black Ice GT Stealth Rad (with Yate Loon D12SH), Laing D5 and either a full cover GPU block or a single GPU block with RAM sinks. I know the latter will dump in less heat and this is where I need a bit of help. Should I go with a 240 Rad or 360? Will the extra money on the 360 give a noticable temperature difference?

Will be plumbed with 1/2" tubing by the way.

Cheers in advance.

8800/9800 series card and a P4 either C2D or Quad overclocked and you will need a 360 mate.. Trust me - if you get a 240mm Radiator you will only be disapointed with your temperatures.

robs rite you need a 360 also i'd go with a full coverage block as with oc'ing u dont want to burn out the gfx ram. so whats this mod gonna look like

I use a 240 Rad, im using overclocked 8800GTX SLI and my proc is an overclocked QX9650. All the temps (GPU and CPU) idle about 40 and peak onload about 52.

I split my loop so much GPUs are not passed the warmer liquid over the CPU. The Cooler liquid is split and goes to the CPU and GPU at the same time.

I am more then happy with those temps cause compared to air the 8800GTX were idling around 65 and peaking 80 odd (sometimes more and would cause bsod)

i still suggest a 360 as it will allow more comfort in temp than a 240 and will be ready for ur next upgrade wen the time comes

Or for the best performance get two loops. ;)

One 240mm Rad for the CPU and a 120-240mm for the GPU.

Kick arse cooling then!

I wish! haha, I was leaning towards the 360 anyway so thanks for the help.
