Rad Questions

So the new black ice rads seem to be able to cool a cpu and gpu. I this a line of crap or can it really do it

I am looking to fit 2 rads in a define r4 and cool a cpu and gpu
suggestions?

if the black ice ones are as good as the say they are then i was gonna go with a 240gtx and a 240gts OR 2x 240gts

check the performance chart on both....thats where it says the cooling potential that i am wondering if it can really do it.

Have you thought about water blocks for your GPU's and CPU what Res and piping you want. what pump etc... need to look at material like nickel lining and things too.

Are those reference cards?
also solid tubing is not fun to work with if you don't have the right tools lol.

If i was doing the 540 id put a thick rad into the front pref with push pull, SP push and AF pulling and venting into the case.

Id run lines to the "hidden" side from the Rad to res, res to pump into CPU, then cpu down into each GPU block then back into the rad. If you want 2 rads you could put a thinner one into the roof.

if you will notice in the op, the case is the define r4....totally different build from the sig rig. 4970K, 780 SC (possibly sli so account for that to be on the safe side). my question is about the rads....are they as good as the say they are.

They seem tight finned but never come across them. In the bits ive been looking at at with the R4 if you got rid of the HDD bay you could get the wider one in easy. Probs with push and pull sit the res up top and pump down low behind the PSU and you should be fine.
And id go flexy tubing ESP if you dont have a window to show off the hard work.

i have a window and i have a few ideas on how im gonna run the tubing...i really just want to know about those rads or if i should get alphacools...thanks for your input tho

Personally if it was my money id go for a brand you know.

it would have to be alphacool then, but I still want to know more about these rads....your can never know enough

ok let me ask this question since i cant get any answers on the other rads. I realize it is a new rad and many ppl prob havent got their hands on one.

How good would a alphacool 240 monsta rad cool a 4970k and a 780 SC?

If I got a second card, would putting a slimmer rad in the top of the case take care of the extra cooling?
