Racing Simulator Advice Needed

This will be my first time using anything besides a keyboard a mouse but I want to play Dirt 3 with steering wheel and pedals. This will be my first time with a set up like this and I don't want to spend too much on them. I don't have a price in mind yet but nothing insane like over $100. I've seen a lot of racing sets from $30 to $200 but I don't know where to start. the $30 ones look like cheep plastic that I'll break through intense gaming sessions and the $200 are out of my budget. Anyone have a setup they could recommend? Also what kind of table configuration will I need? I'm using a glass table so I cant clamp anything to it and my chair sags a little. I'll leave a link of my configuration so you can get an idea of the space I have to work with.

I mostly want it for fun and I don't expect it will make me better that the game, but using W,A,S,D, isn't very fun for me. I've never played Dirt 3 yet only the Dirt 2 demo and it will probably be the only racing game I play unless I get into it more. I mostly play FPS type games.

When it comes to steering wheels, $100 is actually pretty low end :L But if you want something cheap that is still a quality wheel, your only choice is the Logitech Driving Force GT, I have one myself, the medals are naff but the wheel is quality

Thats a really nice set but a lot of reviews mention how the pedals have no resistance and people can't tell if they're pushing them or not. I guess you can't have the best of both worlds. I bet if I looked around I could find some mods that would improve these lower end sets.

If you're not really into racing games and you'll only play Dirt 2/3 I would get an Xbox controller instead of a steering wheel.

Either go for a Driving force GT, or buy used...
I personally bought a old used MOMO force feedback wheel that was 8! years old, and it's been going strong for 2 years so far, never had a problem with it...
Don't go for any cheaper thrustmaster wheel, they are TERRIBLE.
Not too many option in the sub-$100 bracket, these are your only options sadly x.x

And also remember that driving position is very important.
If you try use these wheel with a gaming chair on the floor, it will NOT work, the pedals will be a pain to push down... Stick to a desk, and preferably get the pedals up against a wall :)
Good luck on your racing career ;P
