Hi I'm looking to get new gpu. Which way I should go AMD OR Nvidia from the price and performance point of view???R9 290x or gtx780??

I know that is least important but my color sheme is white-black with some red accents and i really would like to keep it that way......

Honestly, as much as i want the 780, I would say to pass on it for now. Its inferior in almost every way to a non-reference 290, and is also more expensive.

Speaking of that i really hope the 800's launch brings a price drop on the 780 so i can justify buying one...

what you think about that :Powercolor Radeon R9 290 PCS+ OC 4096MB £300

And sell the free memory.

Its got'a be worth £50 on the bay

AMD Gamer 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit £90

or get 2 of those cards???

If you want PhysX which The Witcher 3 will have then you should go Nvidia. PhysX does add something to games and while the library isn't huge in terms of how many games use it there are some pretty significant games that do.

Don't think choosing one game to get a single feature over another card is worth it. After he beats it then what? Doesn't matter anymore. The 290 tends to be a better performer and its cheaper. Its has just as many good features so its really a no brainer purchase. If he ever plans on going higher res too than its an even better choice since it has more vram. Its more a future ready(not proof as nothing ever is) card than the 780.

The original Titans were very future proofed, I ran this on mine the other day to settle an argument. (I had to use Resolution scaling as I did not have three 4K monitors laying around).

My obsolete Titans running 6144 x 3456 Resolution

In pixels = 21233664

BF4 maxed out.

=60fps average.
