A number of you have had r507 upgrades and others have bought Chilly1's ... can you post what ur findings were? For example, What improvements in your idle and load cpu temperatures after the upgrades and how much improvement in overclock u got as a result ... Cheers:)

R507 mods which me and scorchio had were very useful.

On an FX55 clawhammer fully overclocked with 1.85v under load our GT's were +3degrees - with R507 tuned to 210w cooling temps went to -7 under load so a significant improvement - I can't compare after that as I was r507 from that day onward.

The duallies are a bit different - I think the current architecture only allows for a max overclock of 3.2Ghz so the R507 gets pretty close but I think the R404 GT guys manage the same but at a higher temps - still safe to run though.

Of course when you have the unit re-gassed there is an opportunity to tune the cooling up to 240w (a la mk1 Vapo LS) - but I think the capacity means you wont gain much.

Chilly one allows for a much more stable set of temps from load/idle but the reall winner would be a chilly1 with r507 and larger condenser (top cooling with higher capacity tuned to 220w should do you proud).

I'll install speed fan and tell you the duallie temps I get.

With a chilly1 on a fx55 claw at 3Ghz I was reading -30C, not sure whether thats right though...

I'm not sure I ever used my 2 R507 units before they were regassed. I'd say results vary though as one was much better than the other after being regassed. Clearly they did both have a fair improvement over my original mach 2 though.

Dont forget as well that "stock" GT's with 404a are charged to approximately 160-180w. With a 507 recharge you'd be looking at 210w+ and if you had the Chilly1 head installed for example you would see lower, more consistant temperatures. I'd say on average you'd see better real temperatures by 10 degrees.

The temps I look at are those quotes by speed fan for CPU - although for a chilly1, -30 idle at 3ghz seems about right to me.

Phil is right too as in the temps are more sustainable with Chilly1 and the temp drops under load are much less severe - I think phil's being a little conservative with the temperature improvements - if you set-it up right (good contact etc) more improvements can be made.
