More sources pointing to Sony's PS5 using Navi and Zen -

Apparently Navi has been created specifically for the PS5, Interesting
Lots of claims buzzing around lately, though I disagree with a lot of the statements in some of these reports.
If I remember correctly, Jason states that he believed that Polaris was made with consoles in mind, citing the Xbox One X' announcement within a month of Polaris' launch as a reason, even though the Xbox One X release a year and a half later. Hardly a link.
Polaris offered a lot of improvements that most people forget, it was always more than clock speeds. In some cases, the RX 480 offered almost the same performance as the R9 Fury X, showing how AMD had clearly overcome some significant bottlenecks. Then there are things like Delta colour compression, though that work did start with Tonga.
Vega's troubles are from the compute side, with its biggest feature being rapid packed math, a compute-focused design tweak that I doubt that Sony would ask for, though the PS4 Pro does clearly show that Sony was able to look into the future of AMD's Radeon roadmap. While I doubt that Sony specifically wanted Rapid Packed Math, as this console generation is all about making game development easier, I have no doubt that Sony would take a performance-enhancing feature that was already on AMD's near-future roadmap.
As for Navi, the tweaks that Sony will ask for will come straight from the needs of developers, which can only be good news on the gaming side. Microsoft has also reportedly asked for certain design tweaks on their Xbox One X graphics chip, which could also have the potential to deliver better future Radeon chips.
As for Vega, I wouldn't say that its relative failure is due to Sony, resources were tight within RTG regardless and there are many places for the blame to lie. AMD's focus further down the roadmap doesn't necessarily mean that more resources could have saved Vega.
As for co-operation with Sony, Radeon would be stupid to not listen to what they have to say given their expertise. Sony has tonnes of first-party developers to ask when it comes to the limits of their current console technology, which means that they can tell AMD exactly what they need to improve to make their graphics tech more powerful.
If Navi is made with/for Sony, then the GPU is MADE FOR GAMING, which can only be good news for us. Not trying to build hype for Navi, but a focus on gaming can only be good for us gamers.
