Quick News

Capitalism is fantastic, until every one abuses it. I had a friend who worked for Gamestop for many years. In the end he quit. It was that or a nervous breakdown. They ride their employees really hard and they are all treated like dispensable garbage.

Thankfully I can see through their BS which is why I don't even visit game stores any more. I'm amazed they have lasted this long with the internet being around.

Very interesting, it makes a lot of sense to protect their IP, though it remains to be seen whether or not this is basic patent trolling.

If AMD lose, then Samsung and others won't need to license that tech anymore, but if they win these companies will need to make a licensing agreement with AMD and pay for their infringement.

Strange move from AMD, especially when they want monitor makers to adopt their freesync standard.

They are suing mostly for the ARM chips. IDK if you read the article, but suing the licensee aka ARM, doesn't work. As it didn't for work for Nvidia against Samsung, so they are trying the manufature side of things. Better possibility of winning. It also seems they can use Samsungs pockets to help win the case, as Samsung is technically the ONLY company with legal rights to use AMD IP. It would be a power move for Samsung to gain more Foundry control and allow AMD to gain more money.
AMD doesn't go to court often. Rarely do they. I don't think it's Patent trolling.

Aye, this is something that I will need to look further into, finishing off our Ghost Recon Wildlands closed beta performance overview ATM. Very interested in exactly what is happening here.

It just recently happened. That link was the only one I could find(granted I didn't try that hard) so it might be some difficult research:p

Don't be too excited. It's a crap ton of work to do if they try this. Don't know if they have the resources to keep up the updates.

Considering win 7 is a done deal to an extent and probably have very few major updates if any these days, chances are once they get those drivers working unless M$ go out of their way to mess it up, they'd be minor tweaks on the most part

Yes, but I was thinking more along the lines of chipset updates and new CPUs using new instruction sets, etc.

Pretty much all the AM4 motherboards, at least launch ones, have been listed and pictured on VideoCardz. ASRock have another nice looking X370 board and MSI have their Carbon version ready for Ryzen as well as the Titanium. Pretty much all of them look excellent and have colour-neutral designs.

Doesn't have the Crosshair on that list. I've seen leaked pictures of it though. Has 16 rear IO USB inputs. 1 being Type C
