Quick News

I'm waiting to see how Zen pans out until then it makes no economic sense for me to upgrade and my best upgrade was the Vapor X the only complaint I heard about them was about the memory leds flashing

I think they change sockets so often just to make it difficult for everyone to keep sandy CPU's :D.

I also wonder if that is part of AMD's problem they keep the same socket for so long there is little room for improvement

The lack of new and exciting motherboards is undoubtedly holding back their sales. I would happily run AMD CPU's if they had some pretty motherboards as it isn't as if the performance is insufficient.

Actually price to performance is unbeatable on chips like the 860k and 8320E but yeah, half the boards don't even support things like PCI-E Gen 3.0, let alone USB Type C, M.2, mSata, and my guess is that DDR4 memory will take its time to appear as well, if it does.

And obviously you're missing out on the MSI RGB Gaming M Dragon Xpower Killer Godlike OC Nightblade XTREME Audio more RGB and Titanium features

No your missing the "Super 360 Elite No Scope Ultimate Edition"

Elite Dangerous is getting Planetary Landings DLC, Horizons, by end of 2015!

What's amazing about this? No transitions! Meaning no loading screens, go from space to planet levels seamlessly. Will be using a new Surface Recon Vehicle (SRV) ‘Scarab' to traverse the planets. Scanning worlds will reveal all-new surface gameplay opportunities as players detect signals, crashed ships, mineral deposits, outposts and fortresses, and embark on raids on the surface. Playing alone, or with friends on the ground and in the skies above, players can explore, mine, engage hostile forces and attempt to infiltrate strongholds guarding valuable rewards.

Very keen for this. Some people are complaining about the cost but the way I see it is that it's almost like a whole new game is being added on. Well worth it. Plus you get a new ship (Cobra Mk IV) on top.

When you put it into an hourly rate it's so cheap. Same as people who say why do you spend $800 on a GPU? Over a couple of years it's like a dollar a day. Absolute bargain.

Not sure how much exploring I'll end up doing but dogfights going from space transitioning into atmospheric will be awesome. I wonder if some of the more aerodynamic style ships will have performance bonuses for pitch/roll etc?

Considering how large the ships are when actually in an atmosphere, roles will probably limited. I don't see the price as an issue.. I'm a Lifetime Pass holder so for the next 10 years I get everything they release for free:D

Very nice. $159 US for lifetime or $60.00 for the expansion. Tempting! Wonder what else they have in store for us. Capital ships? Thargoids?
Now I just need a chair like ThereIsOnlyOne is building. And the skills to build it...

I just got the lifetime during the first few days of closed beta. It was much cheaper back then. Now the lifetime pass is $195.. I got the game and pass for $125

A software developer has released a pair of tools, CUInfo and AtomTool, which together are claimed to allow at least some Radeon R9 Fury cards to unlock deactivated compute units to boost performance to equal the R9 Fury X.

Might work for some but not all Fury cards, and as always it's a risk that you have to choose to take as it could kill your card or at minimum cause you to loose a bios until you manage to flash it back if you can.
