Announcing the Surface 3. Yes notice the lack of the "Pro". It's a smaller more budget oriented version of the surface.
Quick Spec list:
Base model: $499
CPU: Atom x7-z8700 Quad core cpu.
Ram: 2GB
Storage: 64GB SSD
Next model up(only 2)
CPU: Same
Ram: 4GB
Storage: 128GB
Both share a 10.8" 1920x1280 display with a 3:2 ratio, vs a 12" 1440p display.
Fanless designs, which means no fans vents around the edges like the Pro 3
Size: Both are 10.52" x 7.36" x 0.34"
(267mm x 187mm x 8.7mm) and 1.37ibs/622g.
Pre-order available but release is on May 5th. Personally i think this is a great entry level surface. IMO it's more worthy of getting compared to the Ipad Air 2. Which has many comparisons all over the net.. I think its worth it because of the full blown desktop OS and not some crap mobile OS.. it's more universal. Only downsides to this are the pen and type cover. Pen is an additional $50 and keyboard is still $129. Personally i think the pen should be included and the keyboard at most $30.
More relevant info at MS site.

Just drop this here.. my gawd the performance improvement..
DX12: AMD, Nvidia, Intel Tested
![]()
Essentially MS gave Forbes a chance to test the DX11 Single/Multi thread capabilities in regards to Draw Calls and then compare them with DX12 using in GPU development drivers, W10 preview build, and an early 3D Mark build. Even with all this early software, to say the least it's mighty impressive. What stands out about this is that, unlike what AMD said about lower end hardware benefitting the most, high end hardware still greatly benefits.

First pics of an alleged R9-390 *Non X* from XFX -
I hope thats a signature edition or something. The gold looks crap. How did they manage to make the cooler look cheap :/. the basic xfx 290 looks much cleaner.

How did they manage to make the cooler look cheap :/
They probably stopped sitting down and quietly taking inspiration from elegant things which people like and just did their own thing. Naturally they are XFX so they screwed it up.

It looks like R9-380 to me as well.

Hopefully they remember to add cooling. The xfx 7xxx were always throwing up issues on here.
I'm hoping its just an early prototype. I'd imagine they'd keep the cooler pretty similar as they've won alot of praise for it.
