We've got a bit of time with Ageia's Michael Steele and Dan Forrester

We'll be chatting about UT3 and GRAW2

Anyone got any questions?

Is it actualy gonna be worth it to pay over 100 bucks for a PCI card? Sorry, but it didnt work much with GRAW at all.

Do you honestly think Ageia will say no to that?

Kemp, can you ask if there are more games planned in the future that will implement the PhysX card, making it in a majority of the games in a couple of years?

Yep

  • Are there plans for a newer rev. Phys card, and how would/do this card and the existing one we are familiar with, work with dx10 to this point ?
  • Are they looking for online testers ? *I`m thinking about the clan guys*
  • Having been with Ageia for a matter of weeks over a year - how does Michael feel Ageia has moved forward in presenting a physics platform more devs can take advantage of ? Or are they being exclusive to an extent for any reason ?
  • -- seeing as it`s about a year, did he celebrate, or plan to in any way ? ;)

can you ask what kind of hardware is in the console that are 'utilizing' the ageia software/hardware? like will a console be comparable to a pc with a physx card or is it toned down etc, there are a few different levels of physx implementation in graw 2 and having played it on the console i'm curious as to how it shapes up in comparison since they seem to have omited alot of the graphics updates from the game when going from 360 to pc,

same goes for ut3 will physx be a major part of gameplay? eg extra maps for physx owners only?

(cellfactor revolution for example has physx only maps)

can we expect something like ageia island for ut3?

will the visuals be as good on a console as they would be on a pc with physx

i think that covers everything i've been wondering about lol

Can you find out if in the future, Ageia may partner up with Nvidia/AMD and actually find a way to implement the PhysX processor in a graphics card?

Umm not sure they'll answer that as nVidia and AMD are pushing HavokFX, but I'll asik

Well the Ageia API is free to anyone so I am not sure about the "opening up" bit, but the others are sensible

I think the blunt side of that question is - it`s available to be used by all the devs, but many aren`t - so are they/have they been doing anything to convince ?

EDIT: Love to know is the f@h people have had any contact with them ?

Do you think you can ask them if they could implement the processors onto motherboards themselves? Maybe even on processors?

If that's possible...o_O

I'd like to know if there will be any disadvantages while playing these games, if you don't have a PhysX card. Dedicated PhysX servers, or anything other than less visuals. I only ask this because in GRAW with the card cars and such exploded a lot more, in multiplayer a vehicle can't explode for one person and not another...

This isn't a question I was just pondering... wouldn't the added visuals be a bit... distracting?
