Question regarding GTX 580 LEDS

Hey guys,

I was wondering, my Gigabyte GTX 580 Super Over Clock came with OC Guru software, when you use this program, the 14 phase power LEDS (on the PCB) power on according to the situation, to save power etc.

I was told to stop using this and started using MSI Afterburner, the only thing with this is, the LEDS are all on, all the time, is this bad??

As soon as i open up OC Guru, it will only have a couple of LEDS on, and it will go up if you are playing games, and other things.

No it's not bad. It does not mean your GPU is running at 100%. The Lightning series from MSI does the same thing. If anything you'll get better performance if they are all on always.

Ok thanks for answering that for me

I haven't used OC Guru or Afterburner and my light's stay on all the time on mine as well. I might have a go at overclocking my GPU for the first time, but I'm afraid I might damage it and it does the job very well as it is.

I haven't gotten around to doing any comparisons vs stock OC and OC OC.

I cannot get Afterburner to apply my core voltage setting, it keeps defaulting it everytime i hit apply.
