hey guys i have heard if you just buyed a sub and you play it at like 100% vol can you blow it then when its new?? so i know that may i get a new sub :)

I wouldn't play it at 100% volume.. they have an awesome amount of power and will break very soon.

I have tried my speakers at like 75%.. my windows vibrated practically.. very powerful 2.1 speake system!

lol cant do that now its like 22:24 here lol also parents get crazy when i do that

EDIT my speakers and sub are loud lol when i turn them up high damn iam getting deaf then EDIT my sub even has 6W more so my window vibrates like hell :D

Dude, turn them up to full.. then you'll see what I mean ;)

I have them on full all the time, with X-Fi Crystalliser and some other features to boost the volume. Music is my second biggest hobby along with computing. <3

There are many occasions in which I always get told off because of my Subs by my parents, but whats worse is that the volume is only set to around 7% - Mostly because of the sub, so I always have to lower the bass on it.

That's because bass is a multi-directional frequency - well bass typically below 80 Hz is anyway. You'll always hear a car coming with music blaring and notice the bass first, as opposed to mids and treble.

:( I like my bass punchy and so you can really feel it. There's nothing quite like having bass that makes your bowels move :D

Hell yeah!!

Been to a couple of car shows and seen some award winning soundsystems. Saw a nice one back at Max Power 2006 and it was frickin' brilliant. You'd stand outside the car and feel the air pushing you back. :p

i was at 100% tuning in rotterdam here and it was so awesome i heared a car that was like really damn loud you could hear it when you have a distance like of 200/300 meters man that was awesome :)

Like in my peanut sized car where there is less than 3 feet from your head to two 10"ers :p

I usually keep my bass at mid volume now that I am at uni during the day. But i'm also in party central so i decided to get an external sound card so i can hook up my 5.1's and max the volume out on everything....You can hear my room down the halls as well as up and down the stairs lol

lol, anything that rattles due to speakers should be removed/secured to stop it doing so... nothing annoys me more than a poorly setup sound environment, eg a boy racer's car with too much bass and everything rattling/buzzing..

i've got a pretty massive subwoofer and have all the crossover frequencies setup perfectly, nothing buzzes or rattles but i tell you what, it doesn't half make a nice rumble in movies :)

get your crossovers right and don't overdo the power to it and it'l sound far better than 'everything at 100%' great way to break stuff and put alot of distortion in your ears..

i heard one of the best ways to 'break in' speakers of high calibre is to wire both 2 one output but in opposite polarity (so as they cancel each other out) put them facing each other wrap in a blanket and put rock music on for an hour or 2 at about 50% of output gradually increasing them..

i hear this increases the suppleness of the cones and helps them later in life

hell yeah sub i saw that happening to my sub i was playing bass tests at like 75% vol and after a hour or 2 i turned music on and it felt it was like alot louder iam like damn

Bare in mind Windows vibrating isn't a good thing when it comes to the health of the house. Cracks will start appearing at the top of walls which can get really bad in a newly built house.

I like my bass but I also like my treble so I have a good mixture so I can hear everything from bass pedals to guitar solos.
