Question about Res-pump-loop-pump scenario

I have a pump with 2 ins and one out so my question is can i run down from my reservoir into the pump threw the system then back into the pump bypassing the reservoir again or would that be pointless? I feel like the liquid in the reservoir would just be sitting there stagnant if i did this but my reasoning behind it is i dont want to have to drill more holes into my reservoir then needed as i already broke the first one.

If what im saying is to confusing i will draw a diagram im thinking i may have already answered my own question but any input would be appreciated.

It's my understanding you only use one of those for filling. I wouldn't use both for the *actual* loop. The idea is the water flows around in a cycle, it doesn't need a header tank ;)

That was my assumption but after a massive flub by myself im dreading cutting into the class again to recreate my reservoir perhaps its all the cuts i sustained in the process im dreading lol. Thanks for the quick reply.
