Question about Corsair SP (radiator) fans

I'm looking at getting some corsair sp fans for my first liquid cooling setup in my rig. Corsair specificaly because I've had lots of good experiences with them. Brand loyalty and all.

The reason I haven't just gone out and bought them already is this is Corsair's first shot at fans. it would've either been these or scyth fans because they're a company with a lot of experience with designing fans. Watching the Linus Tech Tips vid Corsair seems to have gotten the basics down like noise dampening rubber components. Also the ability to remove the ring is a nice touch cause I've seen a series of fans somewhere where the shroud was deliberately lower than the blades to provide more open space to suck in air, possibly lowering noise (I'd have to test that though).

Is there anyone that's had experience with the SP series, both performance and quiet versions to compare noise levels. Or would the base CFM (37.85) of the wuiet version suffice for a liquid cooling setup?

Many thanks for any tips guys and gals

PS. upon visiting this forum I got a google warning telling me that this site is an "Attack Site". I've visited here many times and had no problems, and I trust Tom, so I ignored it. If any mods see this they might want to check that out..... Or I've encountered a phishing attempt lol

You are not alone with the "google warning" we are all getting it..............so don't worry

Sorry but no experience with those fans...................just wanted to ease your mind .

Well thanks, I appreciate it.

Would the 37.85 CFM on the quite SP fan be plenty for a GTS black ice radiator might be a better question more people here could mention anyway.

They honestly seem really good.

CFM isn't what matters when you're talking about having the air blowing over something constricted like a radiator. It's the static pressure that matters.

I just purchased 2 of the performance RAD fans from newegg as well as one of the 140s. I will be making a post about them as soon as I get them, which will be the 18th or 19th.

Looking forward to it. As far as I know you're the only one who's going to have done a review so far.

Will it be on the main page or here in the forums?

No (I wish) but it will just be on the forums.

I will be testing stock H100 fans, the fans that came with the Coolermaster V6, and the new Corsair fans.

With the GTS rads since the have 30 fpi you need fans with good static pressure !

I would recommend the SP high performance ones , they will perform better even if you run them at same speed as the quiet edition ones ! ------> better static pressure .

I was looking into buying these fans - they look the part! Although I didn't go with them, I am eager to see how they perform.

just from a spec view, they'd be a good replacement, but from other water-cooler

testing and from the corsair forum, they are well received, but i'm gettng mixed

opinions. the specs are short on performance vs the stock fans. they are quieter

but lack the focus. they have a splayed discharge pattern from what i seen.

i was gunna get me several pairs and backed out, i've got a collection now and

i'll let someone else "guinia pig" the testing this round.
