RIGHT GUYS!!!

Iv been waiting for an age,

WHENS THE Q9450 COMING OUT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?

is there a definite date set? if not, what cpu should i get to tie me over until it does come out???

OCUK had 10th, 10th came no1 got theirs, new one is 18th.

They have already sent out some Q9300's though.

Just got me the E1200 to tide me over until they come out. Anyone recommend a good site to preorder from?

So far Nova are the winners in the lowest price category.

Power consumption. (less voltage vS ampage)

Overclock potential I`m not sure, the Q6600 is obviously damn good.

Price ? hmm Q6600 very darn cheap - however when they are clocked at like 3.5ghz+ with the equiv required volts, their power consumption alledgedly goes crazy.

Cache is 2x6 vS 2x4 ?

Yep yep, plus some other new features. Q6600 needs LOTS of voltage to clock high.

Actaully scan.co.uk are :p

Q9450 should run cooler than Q6600 with a 7-10% performance gain @ stock. Overclock potential may be limited by the 8X multiplier. If you have a motherboard with a killa FSB this may not be a problem.

Yeah its the 1 downer :(

Dunno if i'll get one of these or maybe stretch for the Q9550 for the 8.5 multi.. I heard it was a lil bit iffy messing about with a .5 multi though?? Is that bs do ya think?

if you wanna pay £100 for a .5 multi more go ahead lol... not lik you are going to get lagged with even 3.4ghz and that is just 425fsb.

Enough to keep the 8800GT over a 3870X2 :D

Well na because I'm gonna buy a new GTX or a GX2 if they perform well enough. Not going until May so I've got time to see how good they are. If they suck then X2 it is. ;)
