Pump/Res/Tubing Advice

So in about 2 weeks I'm planning on ordering my water cooling setup, and I'm set on an XSPC RS360 and Raystorm, some Bitspower barbs, and Mayhem's Pastel White coolant, but I'm not quite sure about the pump/res setup. I really don't like the look of a bay res, so that eliminates the XSPC X20 or anything like that. I'm only planning on cooling my CPU, so I really don't need a D5 or anything close. I was looking at the EK DCP 4.0 pump/tube res combo but I've heard it's a tad loud. So, can anyone suggest a decent, quiet combo that should come out to be $75-100 (£50-65).

Now on to the whole tubing deal . I'm just wondering what a decent brand of tubing is, and would it be a good idea to go with 3/8" internal diameter tubing and 1/2" barbs? Or should I just go with some compression fitting?

the only non-equal hose to use would be the 7/16" hose on 1/2" barb.
you'll play extreme hell in stretching 3/8" onto 1/2" barbs.
if only planning a CPU loop the in res 750 pump is all well and good for
that task. keep the tubing in check and it'll be a great pump. but if
looking to include GPU and another radiator then the DDC pump is a
better choice. but looking to plumb 6-8feet of tubing and heavy thick
radiators and CPU/GPU blocks then the D5 would be a best choice.

barb and compression fitting is all a look and preference.

Yeah looking back at my post I realize what I was going for was the 7/16", but was looking at some 3/8" in another tab and wasn't fully paying attention after I posted it. And I know the res 750 would work well, but I think a brushed aluminum plate on the front of a matte Switch would look dreadful, and I don't like the concept of having extra slack on your tubing to pull out the res and fill it.

there is usually two face plates, one ally and other black.
you dont have to have the slack, as in Toms last video (3:10 into video) on the
RX360, using the M20 x G1/4 fillport adapter 2 barbs (or compression fittings) and
fillport and you got the where about to fill without moving the bayres. the fill can either
flop or mount on case.

I've seen the video already lol. And the face plate is still a black brushed aluminum, like that on the front of the 650d. I'm not a fan of the bay res anyway, that's why I specified in the first post that it wasn't an option. I'm just looking for a decent non d5 pump and tube res. I do appreciate your help, but I'm really set on something other than the X20.

bitspower, koolance and swiftech all have res tops for pumps other than the D5. it'll be a
preference on "looks" i always use a D5, unless it is a small (under 275mm cases) form factor
build. have you seen the Swiftech Apogee Drive? pick your fav res and done.

While I love the concept of the block/pump, I'm not a fan of having a pump blocking what I believe to be the centerpiece of the loop. I was looking at this Phobya pump, what do you think?

Though, really, if you're not watercooling your videocard, you're missing out on a huge chunk of the benefit which is a quiet system.

the dc400 is a good pump, aesthetics wise, blaaaah.
but it is your system and it'd go a great CPU loop.
