i just bought a psvita and it is the most amazing handheld i have ever used. The games are lackibg right now but the games that are look absolutly amazing. The touch screen is very responsive, the rear pad is also the same, hardware wise the vita is almost as powerfull as a ps3. i also typed this on the the vita.

Yeah my friend bought one and he let me play with it for a few moments and yes its a fantastic device. Pity it doesn't use microSD.

I would have used that money to get another gtx570 to sli my rig, I leave the consoles for the kids

I was unaware a PC (desktop) was a portable as the vita, and sense when does playing consoles relate to kids? I see more kids on PC than I do on my VITA or my PS3. Please post something next time with some relevancy.

Some specs of this amazing devise. It has 8 yes EIGHT cores! It has a Cortex A9 3 of the cores are used for games the other used for home menu, and a QUAD core GPU all of which are used for gaming. I am sorry but PC gamer or not, if you are not impressed by this you are just a stubborn fanboy, even someone like me who has a fully liquid cooled 6990 finds this amazing. Cant wait for Zipper to release Unit 13.

A relationship in terms of performance, imagine 3 Ipad 2's put together.

Calm down ladies! Although, I cannot see how using a console over a PC makes you a child. Used to play more on the PC until the market switched to consoles.

ANYWAY, It's a nice bit of kit. Slightly pricey at the moment but certainly a step in the right direction.

I'm hoping this is the step in the right direction as well. The PSP while not a total failure was a failure. It's disappointing too because I can't stand the DS. I loved my PSPGo until I got an Iphone 4 and it just sat there. It's nice holding the most powerful consumer electronic in history in my hand though (Vita). Also with all that tech as I mentioned it NEVER GETS HOT! I played Uncharted for 3 hours and it still felt like it has never been played. Also when they update the remote play feature I will be able to play ALL my PS3 game on my PSVita!

Games on my wishlist that I hope come out.

A new portable MGS game

A new Gran Turismo portable (i know the PSP one was small, but I enjoyed it when I was away from my PS3.

A new Socom (Unit 13 looks nice, but it's no Socom)

Killzone portable

Personally I think the hardware is all there and is as good as it's gonna get for £200 right now. I would've liked a 720p screen and for it to be non touch but I suppose it isn't a big deal. If the developer support they've claimed to have is there I'll buy one, right now there just isn't enough games for me to justify buying it.

Really hope it does well though.

I got the Regular non 3g version. I did not want to pay for a data plan, and $250 is not bad when you consider how my an Ipad or a high end android costs for gaming. the screen ppi is still very high even without the 720 display, you cant see the pixels. Also the Touch on both sides is not gimmicky. I thought it would be to at first but it is AMAZING when done right. Games like Unit 13 made by the guys who did socom the screen makes a HUGE difference. Socom used more buttons than a controller could offer. So smaller things that do not need to be on buttons can be placed on the edges of the touch screen and show up when needed. And the rear pad is also fun depending on the game.

Also it may seem like i may be an elitist but I am big in handheld gaming. I have a iphone 4, ipad 2, PSP go, Vita, and even a DS even though I hate it. I got rid of all my other handheld consoles. I give them all a chance and keep most of them.

I would get the vita. Only because I think it is awesome to have gaming on the go. Although the fliP side is that the content is currently small so you could get a second gpu and wait till the vitas price drops.

Yeah I completely agree with you but that's the only minor gripes I have with it because I can actually see pixels and as displays are moving towards removing their visibility (mobile anyway) it's slightly annoying. Yeah touch on the back looks like it can be used well, much better than touch screen getting oils and crap all over the screen while blocking view.

Like I said I'll be picking one up when the games library matures.

I'm like of course, the ps2, ps3, psp and psp go's were all released in white and pictures of many colours have been circulating the web

You have to pay i for the device, the memory stick and for 40£ games? When alot of them, not all, but alot of them can be bought for almost nothing on an iphone.
