psvita

You have to pay i for the device, the memory stick and for 40£ games? When alot of them, not all, but alot of them can be bought for almost nothing on an iphone.

Yeah but the depth of titles really is not there. PS vita to me represents a much more antiquated form of mobile gaming. I used to play hours upon hours of Pokemon on my game boy. Advanced wars on GBA was another title i spent so much time on i can hardly remember doing anything else. But the iphone/android games (at least the ones i have encountered) do not have that kind of depth. I could see playing them for 10 minutes at a time while on a bus, but never for hours straight just sitting at home.

Some of the upcoming titles for the ps vita make me want to get one, but i have a phone because i need a phone, and i have games on it because they are cheap and they keep me occupied on a bus or waiting places. But i could see just playing a psvita game in my house.

The hardware isn't overpriced, they're selling at quite a big loss. Expensive, not overpriced.

Memory sticks are typical sony crap I agree.

The games aren't all £40 but for the few that are you have to remember this is a brand new piece of hardware and much like other new console releases they're gonna keep the prices really high. Over the next few months it'll become more reasonable.

You can't compare mobile games to something on a console.

Lol iPhone games are terrible

Exactly my point.

Some specs of this amazing devise. It has 8 yes EIGHT cores! It has a Cortex A9 3 of the cores are used for games the other used for home menu, and a QUAD core GPU all of which are used for gaming. I am sorry but PC gamer or not, if you are not impressed by this you are just a stubborn fanboy, even someone like me who has a fully liquid cooled 6990 finds this amazing. Cant wait for Zipper to release Unit 13.

A relationship in terms of performance, imagine 3 Ipad 2's put together.

It is actually a quad core.

Sort of. The vita uses the a9 which is a quad core CPU and a Sgx543mp4 GPU which in itself is another quad core. The GPU is packaged inside the a9 which is the quad core CPU. Just like the a5 in the iPad, it is a dual core with dual graphics, so 4 cores total.

had a quick play with my mates today, the touch sensor thingy at the back is awesome and well im definitely getting one, especially since im going to have a longer journey to sixth form next year

I bought the 3g version. I didn't read the fine print that said the free psn game and free month of 3g is only available after you pay for one month. So I'm pretty upset about that.

Things I like:

- Beautiful OLED screen

- Touch screen adds a different playing style. I haven't had a lot of time to play around with it. I'm hoping that developers find some creative way to integrate it into their games.

- Dual analog sticks

- GPS

- High quality games

- Hardware is impressive (I hope they'll make some impressive software to take advantage of it.)

Things I don't like:

- No youtube support atm

- L and R buttons are mushy. They're less tactile than its predecessor, the PSP.

- The d pad and the triangle, circle, square, x buttons are small compared to the PSP. I'm hoping it's one of those things that you just have to get used to.

- Back touch screen is glossy. I would prefer to have a matte finish, but it's an easy fix.

- (Not really a fault with the vita but with psn) One psn account per memory card. Can't change your psn name.

- Price of games(I guess I'll buy most of my games when they're on sale. I hope games do get a price drop over time.)

- Can't transfer over umd games atm. It will most likely not happen at all.

Games I'm looking forward to on my vita:

- Djmax Technika (I would love to be able to transfer over the psp versions of djmax.)

- Marvel vs. Capcom 3

- Gravity Rush (It looks like an interesting game for the vita.)

I see a lot of potential out of the vita.

This is what I'm wondering about. Seeing as how pc games like Diablo 3 is going to be heading to the consoles, will you be able to play games like Diablo 3 on the vita?

Why even bother with the 3g version? Isn't it limited to 250Mb and don't you need a special 3g card?

Implying I bought the bundle. I don't know how sony released it for you guys, but for the US the 3g bundle comes with the above and with a 8gb memory card. I was going to buy the memory card anyway.

So if you do the math.

$250 for the vita

$30 for the memory card

$10 for the game

That's $290 so far. So just $10 for 3g and gps. Why the hell not?

I totally agree. My issue is, i don't want to pay for a data plan

So it's four, core-level, APUs?

And cores don't equate to power neccessarily anymore, not after the faildozer.

Is it possible to fold on it as it'd be very power efficient I'd imagine

From what I understand through communications through Qualcomm they are 8 physical cores. It is said to be a quad core because each CPU core has its own GPU core.

When I get the money (and decent bundles come out) a PSVita Wifi only will show up beautifully on my end of the month bank statement.

Just a fair warning, games can take up a lot of space. Ninja Giaden for example was 2 and a half gigs. similar larger games will use the same. Most people are thinking the game will be about the same size as the PSP games. NO, most of the games that are on the PS VITA are well over 1gb, and most will be 2gb. I reccomend you get an 8gb at bare minimum. I highly suggest getting a 16gb.

getting the 16gb isnt part of the bundle which means i would have to pay £30 more for the card and £20 more for fifa, £50/$80 isnt really worth it for me

I take everything back, i tried my friends vita in it is AMAZING! I love it!
