Hi peeps,

At the moment i have an Corsair ax860i, at the moment with a single 780, the fan on it doesn't spin up at all. What i'm wondering if i was to add another 780 would that then cause the fan to spin up under the heavier load?

I'm aiming for a really quiet rig and i don't really want the noise of the PSU fan at all....any advice?

From the corsair website - Super-high efficiency has another benefit: silence. The thermally-controlled fan doesn't even spin at low loads. It's ideal if you're building a quiet PC or you just want to reduce the amount of ambient noise in your life.

So looks like enough load would turn on the fan. ^_^

Load would turn on the fan yes dude - if you wanted it to stay mega quiet you would need a bigger unit or one of the RM's

I think you should try it first before you upgrade your PSU, you have a really good unit; I have 2 GTX580s on an AX850 and I never hear any fan noise, under load or otherwise.
