Prolimatech MegaShadow Mounting

Hey guys, was having a clear out of my pc cupboard and found a Prolimatech MegaShadow cooler and its mounting. I would like to re-use again now but the screws on one of the mounting pieces is jammed very tight. It looks like this, the piece going across the CPU:

It holds the heatsink down. It tried to free it with a screw driver and even pliers but it won't budge, i have made marks on the screw now and i don't think it will become loose again. Is there a place to get a replacement? It's such a great cooler, don't want to throw it away.

Have you tried WD40 to try and free the screws up? You'd be amazed how good it is.

Thanks for mentioning WD40, i though i had run out of options, i'll give that a try today

. The screw is quite damaged so i'll need a new one anyway if i get the other one free. I found a Prolimatech Megahalems AMD Retention Kit on overclockers which contains the screws and new mounting i need, it looks so similar to mine but i'm not sure. I've emailed Prolimatech, will see what they say.

hmm it could be bit difficult with such small screw, but get a smallest drill bit you have (smaller than screw ofc) and drill through middle not too much in order not to dmaage the board, just about to the middle should do, get pliers and squeeze the top to the middle so the metal can be taken out.

as i said it works with bigger screws never tried it with m3's etc. good luck though, also metals expand when heated so might give it a small heat blow before you do that

or you can always cut the head off, without much problem, something like wire cutter should suffice

Tried WD40 just now and it worked brilliantly, screw became loose instantly. One side the hole was slightly smaller than the other so the screw got stuck, i've filed it down and its much better now, thanks everyone

Received a reply from Prolimatech, and they will kindly ship me out pretty much a full intel mounting kit without the back plate as the one i got is just fine
