Hallo dear people on OC3D.

Now it is time to start a new projekt, but this time it is not to my self. But have a friend that needs a new computer, but there have been some problem in his life and don't have the money to go out and by the items or a new computer.

  • Projekt Math +

What is this projekt going to be and why do i take my time to this and show OC3D a normal build ? When you see some friends have a hard time, then you need to take your time and see what you can do. That have i done whit my friend Mathias Hansen, he is a long time friend and he have always been there whit me and now it is my turn to help him out on this.

My mate have been sick almost the last 3 years, out and in of the hospitals and not getting any news what so ever on it. So all the things he have tryed out, have failed and that is sad to see on.

So i will try to make his Christmas alot better whit a new computer, from the parts i have in my house. This will maybe cost me some parts, but to help a friend. I will do all what i can to help him out and i know it will make him happy.

  • Parts to the build:

I will base my build to him, in a White case. I just have it and it will be a good case to him. The only thing i know from his Girlfriend Randi it NEEDS to be VERY quiet. She hates when things is to loud !.

What case will i use to this build, i have taken the good old Corsair 600T white, i love this case my self and have uset it before. So i know it in site out.

Motherboard that wil be uset is a ASUS one, but abit old. But it works very good and only need a bios update to be up to date.
"ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3"

So the cpu will be Sandy one and i have found the old but lovely i5-2500k out of the box and it will be cooled by a Corsair H100i. And yes i will do some OC on it, to make it abit faster to him.

Memory, i have some kits in the house. But i will know what i will take when i build PC. But i know it will be Corsair all the way.

My old 6970 is also up and running one more time, but the cooler on it have seen better days. So there will go a "Arctic Cooling Accelero TwinTurbo II" on it.

Harddisks in the build, we can't build anything whit out SSD today. So there will go a 120 GB SSD from Corsair in it and also a Samsung HDD. Maybe two in raid, but need to see what i will do on that.

The PSU is something i'm working on, but will update it later on.

  • Time use on this build:

I have sayed to my self, i needed this done before Christmas. I think it will be a great gift to him on that time, maybe his girlfriend will not like that. Then she will not see him :P

But this all from now, picture of parts and build go up as when i do the build and show you all this.

Kind Regards,
Christian "Etlar" Hesselberg

A very unique build; very generous and personally I enjoy trying to see what I can throw together with some left over parts. Whats the reasoning behind "Math +" ?

It's wonderful you're doing this for your friend who's had a crappy time, very kind and generous :) It doesn't matter it's just a normal build as you said, just build it with love and it can look as good anything

I have allways been like that, if i can help a friend that also will do the same to me. Then why not do this, then he can have some play time ;)

Where is "Math +" from, well he have been a bigger man in the past. But after all this time sick, he is now small ! :D - But normal "Math" is what i call him, and the "+" is to show that this PC also can be uset by his girlfriend ;)

Thanks, i will do my best to make this OC3D anal on cables and so on, the only thing i'm sad on. Is the SSD is red, but the rest will work lovely in the rig ;)

Update:

I will have some picture on the parts i have in the house and also what i will do whit the video card and cooler in the next days. Have taken some now, but need to go and work out and then some work. But will be back whit picture and some text to it ;)

Update on parts:

Have been so lucky to get a Seasonic from one of the member on the forum here, will update whit picture and some more stuff to that. When it hits my house in the next week ;)

  • Hardware:

Hardware time to the pc, and why not start on the mainboard. All the things will be on here og have something to do whit it :P

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3. nothing new or just crazy. But a board that will do the job and will get the things right after my head. This was my first board after i when away from Apple PC :P

Video card in the build will be a 6970 from XFX, but the cooler is bad or have seen the days it needs so there is coming a new cooler to it :D

There is some dust on the fan, but the cooler insite the box is free of dust. But the card hits 90c in 2 min in games and so on. So what can we do whit this, we can make some pOrn in this post. So place be 18+ or get some one that is to be whit your site.

So sexy whitout a cooler on it, but now she is alot hotter when she is running. So need something to keep the temps down a bit. The cooler will be Arctic Cooling Accelero TwinTurbo II.

After the test whit the new cooler on it, i CANT hear the card anymore and that is a good thing.

  • Parts in the case:

Time to get some items in the case, just to show where i'm going whit this. And hope some people will like that i'm going to use ALOT of time on the cables to get them TIDY ! :)

We will start whit the mainboard in the PC, and there is a cooler on it. You know, when you get ahead on your self and dont take picture. That was me this time :P

Hallo all dear friends :)

So this project have been done in a long time, but his parts is getting old after all. So do we not think it is time to do something on that ? I do, so in the next days i will upload some parts he will get.

I can say so this, he will go from Intet to AMD. I have a AMD X370 board in house i need i check, plus a CPU. No spec yet, but it will be a huge upgrade / update to the PC he have right now.

But have fun so long, cant wait to show off parts to you all :D

I thought this was a recent build, and that was really cool that someone was doing it on the great/old Sandy Bridge platform. Nonetheless, it'll be cool to see the upgrade. Keep sharing.
