Project : White is the new Black

I woke up this morning and realised I've got a Monsta 420 just collecting dust, so I sat and had a think, I'm using an XSPC AX 360 up top and a 240 Monsta in the front, surely I'd be better putting a Monsta 420 in the front, and try and fit my ST30 360 up top, I thought I would just be able to squeeze the ST in as it is about 25mm shorter than the AX, but sadly even then it wouldn't work, it did fit but I couldn't use then front rads ports, and don't want the hassle of turning the 420 upside down so the ports are on the bottom, as the holes to mount don't quite match.

So I settled with the Hardware labs Black ice XFlow, up top, at least the rad space is about the same, well just a tad more than before, and with the XFlow rad it should make tubing a bit neater.

I think its the perfect place for the resevoir, mount it onto the monsta and let the coolent come from the rad into the top of the res, I think that would look super clean

The Luxe is the only white case that has ever made me rethink black, it just has something about it, in the flesh it is even better.I'd say it's the only case I haven't wanted to remove anything, my go to change is usually the drive bays, but they're even staying this time round. Even within an hour of having the Primo the bay cover had to go.

The only faults I can find is that the psu shroud stops a couple of inches shy of the bay cover. And that if you have the drive bays removed, you loose that space for cables as you can see straight through, but that's an easy fix really.

Just a couple of the almost finished article.I just need to sort some cash out for the cables, and back plates, other than this she be done. The only real change I've made is to remove the bay plate, which I was, going to put back in with a blank ove rthe top, but I like it without, so it's gone, also the grommet on the psu shroud looked naff, so with a piece of smoked acrylic, and the Phanteks badge from the bay panel I made a nice little home for the badge, with the white led's from the SuperFlower psu, it shoud give a nice effect.

I'll post some better pics in the daylight tomorrow.

Cheers guys. I'm chuffed with the blue, I just wish I had the cash to add the blue to the cables, I think it will bring it all together properly..

I thought time it was dark, I'd add a few shots with the great Phanteks LED strip turned on.



One of the new Phanteks badge location. I'm going to block the end off to hopefully help with the effect.

This one looks cool with the purple LED on.
