Project Quakecon 2013

Yeah, blue might be a tad OTT. Could always do the GPUs grey and the PSU blue if you want :)

Also, are those casefeet staying orange?

Also, at this time I have a 4.3GHz overclock on the 2500k, with a idle Core Voltage of 1.336V and 1.280 at load(Vdroop). I think this is pretty good, of course I'm still learning and tweaking with it. I want to get at least a 4.5 and in hopes of getting a 4.7, but that just depends on my luck.

Time for an update!

In the past week or so I have decided to upgrade my HDDs because I have had them for a bit and I am afraid they could go out at anytime. I was very close to picking up a 2tb Seagate Barracuda but decided to go with a 1tb WD Black at the last minute do to the incredible warranty. I am happy to say that the HDD performance of my system as just about tripled.

And an update on the rest of the system. The plates are currently in progress, I have decided on the final design but I could use some input. I was planning on getting AX860i laser cut out as to let people know what I have and for aesthetics. As for the graphics cards plate, I plan on covering up the entire side including where you can see the heatpipes as to not let any air escape from the sides but instead out the back.

For cabling I have decided to shop at Lutro0's new shop as opposed to other shops like MDPC. I trust his opinion with the sleeving and the tools. The tools are currently on there way and I will begin cabling process. When his custom sleeving becomes available I will get it in most likely blue and white, but I haven't actually decided whether I will go with PET or Paracord. The 24 PIN as well as the PCIe cables will be going directly from the PSU to the connectors. I am planning on doing something nice with the back area and I think, if done correctly, it could look very nice.

Here is a small update about the sleeving situation. I have my tools currently, straight from Lutro0 Customs, and the custom paracord is on its way.

More updates soon.

Much appreciated!

The pace is slow because of school, but there is plenty of time to complete this, no reason to rush. I hope to have the cabling done by next week or so.

The phantek was MADE for that case

Isn't it!?

Update time:

After Lutro0 introduced his custom paracord I placed my order so I could custom sleeve my entire case, with some extra. The only problem with ordering was having to choose the right color, because their were so many, for the build, because of that I ordered two different blues.

The order arrived yesterday with some extra goodies stuffed in.

The blue on the right was a great match, so I have decided to use the middle blue to learn myself some paracord sleeving. I took out my already made 6/8pin cable, using regular 18awg wire, and sleeved it.

I didn't take many measures to make the length of the cables perfect, so the cable isn't perfect. I know it will take a couple before I get to the point where I have cables worth of being in this build, but it will be well worth it.

Also, any input cable colors, such as the placement of the colors would help. I'm thinking of making it a majority blue, maybe around 3:1 Blue:White, maybe 2:1.

Thanks for sticking with me!

The things about Quakecon is, even though it has moved on to become bigger and better, it still keeps to its roots and has major Quake tournaments.
