Project: Phoenix

Well, it was time for me to actually start on my sleeving for my power supply. I really don't have a name for my rig, but Phoenix seems to fit pretty well, which is why I gave it the title Project: Phoenix.
I will try to keep things updated as much as I can, but I will start with how bad it looks right now.
We shall see if it looks better in the end.
I will warn you that the cameras I have available don't take that great of photos, so they may be crappy, but it's the best I can do for now.

As one can see from the photos, my computer is a mess and filthy, so it definitely need some TLC. Too much dust has found its way into my rig, which needs to be taken care of. Let's just hope I can pull this off and make it look amazing.

I shall now begin my adventure and see if I can get pictures along the way, as long as I don't forget.

Looking forward to the good and bad feedback I shall receive.

Bloody hell, that really is filthy!

Love myself some nice sleeving. Side panel fan would have to go for a window if it was my case, but that's just personal preference ;)

I actually plan on getting a new side panel that is just a window from Cooler Master, that is, if they still have it on their website.

I live in an older house that has horse hair plaster, so it generate dusts, which gets annoying, but I bought an electric duster to solve that problem.

I finished my 24 pin power connecter. Sleeving with paracord sure does take some time.

Well, I have some photos of the case after I cleaned it. It still looks a little dirty, but I think that is due to the camera, since it looks new in person.

Try taking pictures in daylight and never ever use a flash. It'll look much better ;-)
Sleeve on!

Alternatively, if you have some other light sources besides a flash (a spot light, for example), you might use those instead of the flash.

And if you really have to use a flash, having it not point directly at the object you're photographing but up into the room gets good results, provided you have a proper flash. The flash will be reflected from the environment onto your object of interest and make it look similar to daylight (again, this of course only works with a proper flash, to which you might not have access).

But yes, daylight gets the best results, unless you invest into some proper studio lights ;).

Yeah our dog is half Newfoundlander and has a very thick coat in winter which of course gets shed come spring time. No matter what I do, there will be a lot of hair absolutely everywhere.

Having done some paracord sleeving myself, I wish you hours upon hours upon hours of pleasure ^_^

I was using a mix of my cell phones camera and a digital camera. The better looking photos are with my cell phone and using my over head light, which still gives a glare.
I guess when I am done with this project, I will take the computer outside and see if I can get some better pictures. Maybe I will ask around to see if anyone has a better camera and is willing to let me use it.
I probably should invest in getting a better camera, but I gotta work with what I have right now.
Here is a picture of my 24 pin 3/4 of the way done.

That is some nice sleeving!

And don't worry too much about the pics. They fulfill the most important criteria for amateur photography:
  • they are not blurry
  • they are not too dark to make out what the heck is going on (better have flash than unrecognizable subject of picture ;))

But yes, going outside to take some pictures for the final product is a good idea imho.

I have finally gotten all the sleeving done.

I will be replacing my radiator fans with some Corsair SP 120s. I just have to wait for them to come in before I get this computer fully together.

After almost two months, my Corsair SP120s have been shipped. They have been back ordered for quite some time, but soon I will be able to install them. Also, it is getting really nice outside, so I will be able to take better pictures. I might also be getting a full windowed side panel for my case, since I'm not too fond of the side fan. It collects too much dust. I have to say that my computer barely has any dust in it now, since I sleeved my cables and made it much more tidy.

dude love the sleeving job dude .as for dust i got 3 cats 2 dogs and a jungle python so i know that loosing battle .dam dust bunny,s lol .but cant wait to see how this turns out almost bought that case myself (till i watched TTL,s case reveiw on the nzxt 810)
