So nice to see tools other than a screwdriver being used!
Yeah, this rig is very much a labour of love.Looks like this is gonna be a very personal rig.
Looks like I'm gonna have to go on ebay and get me one of them cards! I'll need to make sure I get the invoice though.
Thanks Tom! I dare say my temporary cardboard mod wouldn't have been quite the same if I'd have forgone using a knife and gaffer tape for just a screwdriver... but now I kind of want to try it.So nice to see tools other than a screwdriver being used!

If you're patient enough, you might even be able to snag them sub £200. I'm just hoping the gamble of having an ex-mining card pays off!
Look down the side on the ebay options, you have to change the "Item location" from "on ebay UK" to "UK only". You'll literally have to do this every time you go to ebay, but using this you can find the local items only.I've seen some aftermarket ones for just over £200 actually, they have obviously been used as mining cards but most of them are from the US and I didn't really want to have to RMA to the US. I also read that companies (Powercolor that I've read) only offer the warranty to the original customer?
Aww SuB, I'm touched by such kind words.jeez, just been back through this thread. Utterly mental amount of mods, tools and adaptations for your rig. All modders should read this as a bloody starting point lol
Aww SuB, I'm touched by such kind words.![]()
If they hold their sharpness, then I think they're going to be a worthwhile investment.I gotta get me a set of those hole drills as well that cut is divine.
I'm actually loving the challenge of how down to the wire this mod is. Seems to be going well so far.It is that mate.
Honestly, without being told outright you can't know, but if someone is dumping several high end graphics cards less than 4 months after they bought them, I don't see anything else they could have been doing with them!Looking lovely mushn00b question alert; How would you know if the card has been used for mining?
Haha, when you have tools lying around that are so old they're using imperial measurements, it doesn't take much deliberation to decide to make them useful again.Love it! Love all of it, your power to overcome the smallest of obstacles even to the point of making your own spannerI've used larger spanners in the past with a valve clearance shim wedged in to make up for the difference but never attacked one with a dremel.. Kudos to you Sir.
Haha, then I fear I may be responsible for your death with the slow progress I usually make on my mod.The suspense is killing me
Now that'd be an interesting statistic to see.Easily one of the oldest still-active threads belongs to this guy![]()
Too much fapping not enough modding!
I just hope it doesn't get too hot and melt the plastic hold down plate or something! Hopefully it being on the waterblock might unintentionally help!I am very intrigued by that LED idea... the modder side of me says "Do it, see what happens!"![]()
