Project Maximus Design

Decided to take on a new project for two reasons, firstly it was time to replace the fluid in my system and give all the parts a good clean and secondly i saw the new Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 and new i needed it!!!

To cut a long story short i have also ended up with a new motherboard, new pump, new fittings, new fans etc. To make these purchases i have sold a few parts i had left lying around and once i replaced the system i will have more bits to sell!

New parts are:

Asus Maximus Gene V

D5 pump with Bitspower mod kit and pump top

Bitspower Blood Red Barbs

Bitspower Matt Black D plug

Mayhems Black Pastal Fluid

6 Corsair Hight pressure low nose fans

Xspc Tubing

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (when it is released)

Existing Parts i am re-using

Ek supremacy cpu block

i5 2500k

2 Evga 570 SC card with Full EK water blocks and backplates

1 XSPC rs 240 rad

1 XSPC rx 240 rad

XSPC Bay res and custom white faceplate

Corsair AX850 psi with White braided cables

8gb Corsair Black LP memory

8gb Corsair Red LP memory

I have spent today draining my rig taking all the parts out and giving them a good old clean. Not much i can do now until i get my hands on the New Fractal Design Midi R2, still waiting on a release date. Im going to take loads of pictures tomorrow of all my new and cleaned equipment as.

But here is a teaser :)

itll be a good build, but way too much acerage between the PSU and mobo. hopefully
you can pull it off, but most look "incomplete" with a huge gap.. will wait and see.

thats why i bought a mini, because of the total loss of space and look..

awesome looking! I have the corsair highpresure low noise fans aswell, and I'm very satisfied with them, I don't hear them at all and I really like the ability I have to change the color rings for the fans, it really helps out when it comes to the color shceme of the build.

you may wanna rethink your hose choice:

just a heads-up..

Cheers yes a friend on another forum pointed that out as well, will be sending it back and getting some xspc tubing instead. Shame as i got the tygon tubing becuase it has a nice shine to it.

I needed to be able to fit a big 240 rad in the front and as far as i know you cant do that in a the mini.

it can hold a 240 in the front easily. the roof can hold a fat 60, but RAM
heatsink clearance on my corsair platies was tight. low pro would be better.

can it hold a fat 240 in the front, wouldnt want to put a thick one in the roof and i want to have push pull on the thick rad.

you dont have to push/pull any radiator, unless the fans are inadaquate to
begin with. most just like saying push/pull.
use a low fin density radiator (less then 12fpi) fan rpm of 800-1200rpm and
high static pressure, push/pull is replaced.

Ive always used push pull as i like my rig to be near silent so i prefer to have 4 fans running silent rather than 2 running with a bit of noise.

you have missed the point..
its not needed... on low fpi rads. 800rpm is silent

I am fully aware of your point but doesn't mean i have to agree with you. I have no intention to buy a new rad i have used push pull on my rx 240 in my last 3 builds and i am happy with the performance and silence

As promised here are some pictures :)

Let start with some more motherboard pics.

Some GPU shots.

Both are evga 570 superclocked editions, had them for a couple of years and they still destroy any games, with the full ek blocks, they look so much nicer than the new circle design in my opinion.

Cosair AX850 with white sleeving

New D5 pump with bitspower top and mod kit.

I sleeved the cables but they wouldnt fit through the holes at the back so may just leave the cables as they wont be seen in the build anyway.
