All the recovery tanks and equip to do charging and discharging safely

We have these coming in -

Hardware

1 x Higher capacity 2 row condensor for mach chasis

1 x 4 row condensor for another upcoming project ;)

1 x Danfoss SC15CLX (2/3hp) compressor

12 x 20g Copper Driers

1 x 1m Suction line

2 x 50-70cm Suction lines

1 x Oil sep

1 x HX

1 x SLHX

Gas

R23

Well I think I'll put you all out of you misery now and tell you what on earth is going on lol.

Me and Thicky have been talking for a while about building units and decided we were gonna do it. We have the following in the pipeline -

1 x NL11F Cascade (CPU)

1 x NL11F SLI / Crossfire Phase unit (GPU)

1 x SC15CLX Singlestage (CPU)

If these work out how we're planning then we are looking into building more units. A chiller is an option we're looking into and the SLI unit was going to be a chiller, but I managed to strike a deal with Kayl which a few of you know about, and the rest of you will know about in due course ;)

Thicky and I are determined to make all this happen and we will be posting pics as we do the builds and also telling you how it's going. We are expecting to have all the kit within the next 3-4 weeks but will possibly start work on the Cascade and SLI sooner :D

Chau for now

Well mines currently on a 2/3hp compressor and at last assembly before it was getting to much pressure so had to take it back to drawing board. That was pulling around -68 idle with a special gas blend ;) My compressor may soon be getting upgraded again to an SC21C which I think if I worked it out right is a 3/4hp compressor lol. My S/S is a true beast among S/S units :D

Also all these specs for all the units are subject to change, and if they do you lot will be first to know about it ;)

Right guys, a little update is in order.

A few pics to help things along but had a delivery of 12 driers, 1 mach replacement condensor and a big condensor :D

Enjoy pics.

wow adam, liking the look of those -youl have to show them to me 'in the flesh' .. aminly so i can poke them :p

I see you've been shopping with Johann, I've got a couple more of those black beauties myself :D

The long condensor is made for specific installs very similar to watercooling rads that are mounted on top of cases, so keep that in mind when you configure it. If you're thinking cascade desuperheater it's not quite as big a deal if it's after the oilsep as you don't normally get any condensing before the HX.

Those black condensors perform very well, and more importantly they look great :D

I just wish I was having more progress on your unit over here Boardy, more holdups on the controller are making it stretch out a little but hopefully very soon.

Good to see some steady progress over there, can't wait to see some frost coming soon ;)

Gray

No half measures indeed matey. Went up to meet Gray yesterday who's a great guy, sat in the minivan for a gd few hours chattin away about stuff.

Anyway, talking of no half measures this is what we picked up off him yesterday -

-> My Manifold and guages

-> A few tools to make life a little easier

-> 2 x 3/4hp Rotary Compressors

-> 2 x 3/4hp Danfoss SC21's

-> 2 x 1/4hp Various makes

It's all coming together nicely now, and we're hoping to start the building process for some of the units this weekend coming. Just need some BIG condensors now for the big units, but those are being ordered soon most probably.

Anyway, here's some pics of the kit I got (sitting in my bedroom atm lol).

Nice compressors good old rich tea cant beat them,

Totally off subject i see you have some hackey sacks didnt know they still made them :D.

Hell yea they still make em :D

It's a great game to play wen drunken, especially playing flaming hack. For those who don't know, dunk the sacks in carosene or sumthing, light the booger and play hackey with it buring. Great fun but can hurts slightly lol.

More pics and stuff coming soon btw :D

Just a little eye candy, SLI blocks finished, just need brazing now :D

The conversion of a rev.1 Kayl block to 2 SLI blocks for your viewing pleasure

The square and round bits sticking out will not be on the GPU's, the flat surfaces will be as with the Chilly and original Kayl block.

The rev.2 next to the modded rev.1. Original height vs. sli head. Overall height is 17mm on the taller SLI one incl. cap brazed on, original is 32mm.

How's that then? :p

Boardy

OMG what moron did that to your blocks?? :D

well I'm glad you like 'em, changed the plan and they'll get 10' each of .028" for a max 150w heatload per block.

That should tend to maintain a much better flood of the evaps and keep the temps very stable.

Likely a better option with GPU, as it should also make the temps a little higher, making insulation much easier.

But we'll see when they perform.

I just need my suction lines to finish 'em off :)

Gray

Well I still have no small suction lines yet :@ but I've brazed up the SLI heads, ready for when they show. will be trimming the pipes down as much as I can for the suctions to be closer to the heads, and cut down on resistance in the 1/4" pipes.

Each head has exactly 10' of .028" captube, so tuning is up to 150w per head max.

And that's that really. You can see the 'dot' on the last one, that's where the captub hole was predrilled, but otherwise prety standard. I've oly done a basic lap on these, will do the full polish after the flexi's are brazed on.

Gray

Gray, you are unbelieveable. You always step up to any challenge I throw at you and this time have gone past my expectations of how these would turn out. Thanks Gray, I will learn to braise these things myself soon I promise lol.

Can't wait to get these things back and on the unit. I will be braising up the system ready for these heads this weekend on Sunday. I'll post piccies as I go on that :) Thicky will also be here doing his new S/S aswell so it's gonna be a fun day of braising for us.

Also have some more suprises to follow soon but until I know full details I'll leave it at that.

Cheers

Well Thicky and Pants came round on Sunday about 11am and we had a little bit of a building session as most of the parts arrived (after a few drives out to B&Q anyway lol).

We got the whole kit in my garage which has now changed to a Phase Workshop for the next few weeks.

The first thing was for Thicky to show me and Pants how to braze properly. In the end Pants ended up doing all of Thicky's brazing and 2 joints on my unit. He seems to like flames a lot as he kept on testing my MAPP torch "just to check it worked".

Thicky had a few issues with the condensor he's using but sorted it in the end. He's also brazed on the access port onto the SC12 compressor he's using.

I managed to braze the access valve onto high side before the end of the group build. Thicky and Pants left around 730ish with me still in the garage.

After the other 2 left I was away, managed to fit the discharge, access valve, and finished brazing it all up, along with a pipe on the suction with a brazed end to seal it. This was pressure tested and charged slightly, to my dismay, my condensor is boogered which means i'm gonna HAVE to change it out I think.

Anyway, here's some pics at the point we're at now.

We remove the existing pipes off the black condensor, with a little fire to go with it :)

continued in next post......

........continued from previous.

Not many of my build as I can't hold a torch and take pics while braising, it's not an easy thing to do.

Just checking my unit will fit

My unit finished to this point on the workbench and still fits in the chasis (To be honest I think I'm going to change the pipework, I dont really like the way I've done it now lol)

Ooo yea, nice vac on that one then (Shame it wont hold it for more than 13hours)

There ya go

More to come!!
