whats cracking brethren finally bit the bullet and ordered the majority of the parts i will be using for my build named

PROJECT THAD CASTLE

after the legendary character THAD CASTLE played by ALAN RITCHSON in the magnificent tv show blue mountain state

i havent yet ordered the cpu gpu or mobo as i am waiting for lga 2011 and i am getting my stuff together so i can have a party at christmas or shortly after. i will be getting 2 of the next gen equivalent of the 580 then water cooling them and the non extreme grade 2011 chip. its going to be epic. once all of the pieces below arrive i will take a picture. will be the flipping most expensive picture i will have ever taken £1100 bricks for all the stuff below including shipping. i know ttl hates internal optical drives. but i dont and i will be disguising it (in theory) in the custom case/unit i am in the middle of constructing and modifying. this this should be a super B.A. first build. this stack of stuff alone is more than the 2 laptops and pc currently in my house (big family).

i am returning the sound blaster and i am going to replace it with the asus xonar essence "ST" with the h6 add on card for sphincter tingling 7.1 sound i know the x-fi is 7.1 but why put a 50 quid sound card when im hooking it up to 500 quid av reciever. i also made a mistake when ordering the fans and only ordered 8 like a plonker so i need another 4 for the push pull setup but the area that they will be located will be on a different level of the case so i dont think ill need to put led fans on the back and will just get some similar spec'd fans for the pull side. i will need to use a bunch of acrylic. i hope it turns out as good as it looks in my head. i plan to get everything built up and ready for the 2011 an kepler launches so i can get the stuff and fire it in. i must say though i love how the poweer and reset vandal resistant switches came with no wiring instructions. i hope to have one of them functioning as the disk activity light. but its says its rated as 12v but theres other places saying that they will work between 3-12v so i have no idea if that doesnt work ill jus thave them set to be lit the whole time. thanks guys for your input. i will keep you posted with my progress

(i also get the feeling that for a first build its like ive ordered the 64oz steak on the menu but ive got a stomach the size of a plum. like ive only ever installed ram before lol)

Still no pictures

This had better not be a tease.

If it's all real with a spend of such epic proportions then it could re start the worlds economies single handed

ive spent a cool K already with sli graphics mobo ram cpu and appropriate blocks, also fittings hose coolant lights acrylic sheet a jigsaw a router.(might rent the tools) oh yea the asus essence st and expansion board. dude there is so much left im just glad i finish paying off my sv650 october 15th and have a mega christmas bonus coming. this thing will last me for flipping ages. ill post pics as soon as i get the chance. im the oldest child of 7 all ov em living at home incuding bro-in-law and nephew living at home and im the best cook in the house so when i get in from work its usually straight into the kitchen. i wont be surprised if my future wife is the one telling me to make her a sammich flip sake lol. ive only just finished making tomorrows dinner and i started at 7 oclock lol. photos soon. also ive never loaded photos to a forum before. can i upload em to facebok then link them over so i dont chew up oc3ds bw etc

not sure about the oc3d uploader. give it a try. other wise use photobucket or flickr then just copy the image link over.

now this unit will be modified up the ying yang so dont laugh at it lol. its also hard to belive ive spent a grand on how empty this looks. i might get another 2tb hdd and a few other components before its done lol but yup theres 2 fillports and 2 drainports there aswell. everything is placed very roughly where it will sit

the whole thing is going to be painted white including the shroud of the bluray drive apart from the chrome faceplate of the tray. the bottom level houses the power supply, rads and pumps. everything else will be top layer. there will be some fans on the horizontal plane of the middle level to push air into the top layer from the bottom layer and there will be exhausts on both top and bottom layers.

thoughts guys they may help me improve on my own ideas.

Awesome, can't wait to see this build come along, you have pretty much the same idea as me. I'm just going for the "SR-3" instead. We just need more info on the Keplers!!

Right guys. Ive mapped out my loop order and rough and i mean ROUGH layout. Ive also made an arrangement with the guy that works for/with me that im going to throw a evga gtx550ti 2gb in it for 150 hes gonna buy i off me for a hundie when kepler i released just so i can get usin my system and not have to wait an extra 2-3months

Heres diagram

Looks very interesting mate and good choice with the Hard-drives. I'm using the same on my newest computer and they are both super fast. You won't be disappointed

ive been doing some tinkering on solidworks the past week and this is a rendering of early (very lol) into the modding process. you will notice the long wide window in the top and the holes in the middle panel and mount plates for 200mm blue led coolermaster megaflows (to push air up into the top chamber to keep things nice and cool. this rendering has the wood finish that the unit already has which i was going to paint white completely. but seeing this has made me think that it would actually look nice if left with the wood veneer unpainted, kind of a blending of two worlds the natural and the synthetic (if you use your imagination and visualise a sli uber wc'd system in it). i kinda like the flip out of it. i still have a lot more modelling to do to get the final concept 100% and to get measurements for acrylic because the bottom chamber will still have the solid white acrylic face with fan holes and the top chamber will still have transparent acrylic for more viewing area.

any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated guys and girls

peace out
