Project: Flame Orange

Not so sure those orange fittings will work with the rest of the rig dude. Some times you have to see the colours are just so different and buy black instead. I think a plain dark colour would work better as contrast, I seem to remember orange coolant too right?

Tom I was actually thinking the same thing myself. Will try them on the build when I put to fit blocks etc over the weekend and if I don't like the colour once fitted I may get black.

About to OD on orange if you use those fittings with orange tubes or coolant. Personally i would use coloured fittings as accents in a dark build and use dark fittings as accents in light builds like yours. So either black coolant or fittings, chrome fittings could work. Looking great though keep it up.

If the coolant is orange fella Id wade straight in and get black while its still easy to change.

Too much of one colour is bad - like Id really hope youll be using white LED's if at all in your rig to bring out the orange - rather than orange LED's to just bleach everything the same colour.

As you know I did orange myself about 4 years ago (couldnt even get black fittings back then!)

But the contrast really helps.

NZXT ones are pretty good, I used them in Orca and can be hidden and made much tidier than the BitFenix style flat LED strips you can get.

NZXT is a more subtle light - BitFenix are like fecking flood lights!

Yeah Ive done videos on those - mental bright but a PITA to make look tidy and the glue just warms up and they fall off anything high in no time.

Thats why I used NZXT -

To be honest I can't help but think that a splash of another neutral colour (possibly white?) would help to provide some relief for all the orange. It just feels over whelming to me...

wouldn't painting the fans unbalance them?

It can, but in this case there was a test fan painted and tested to ensure that any imbalance would not be catastrophic. At worst, the fan might perform a little lower than usual.

If you want to see the video of the test fan, I believe it is linked on page 5 about halfway down.

I wouldn't bother introducing white to an orange/black build. perhaps a dark shade of grey if anything. Speaking of grey.. I'd be blacking out the rubber thingies on those fans.

As much of on orange overload that this is, it's growing on me... :S

Do want that case though :(

Yes, the orange is awesome. Once the black side panel is back on the case I think it will not be as "in your face". The rubber grommets, I didnt know what do with them, cos if I painted them they could crack as rubber expands and contracts loads with heat and movement.
