Hey every one, decided to do some moding on my rig.

here are some stuff i did:

I got this LED strings from a car shop(of all places) and i noticed it fits between the plastic cover and the GPU fan, nothing is touching so the fans works exactly the same.

also drilled some little hole for the wires.

Added a second fan to the V8 using some small metal rodes, and shortened the wires from the 2 fans and from the exhaust fan so no spare wire will hand around

Still have lots of ideas to test out, here is a failed attempt at making a red glow come from under the MB

Didn't work, well the leds worked but the amount of light the came from under the MB was so small the it wasn't worth it.

Any way home you like it and any ideas would be great as to what i can do with those led stirps, also have around a 100 5mm LEDs.

I guess for the motherboard LED mod because of the matt black PCB and black case the reflections out get reduced greatly. You could try mounting the LED strips to the motherboard, better still create wedges to angle the light outwards and towards to the case surface. As with any mod, take care not to short anything up, say with... al foil

Yeah getting the whole gpu fan green would be awesome but as you can see there is no where to place them, and I don't want any thing to interfere with the air flow.

Hey guys, finally got some time and materials to work with.

So here's where i'm at now...

Some cable sleeving:

I spent a month finding a pin removal tool when finally i found a whole 4 tool set!

Only to have the pin remover brake after sleeving the 24 pin, so i made my own tool,

and that turned out 5 times batter then the one i bought LOL.

Also got some wire management thingis

And finally did a little paint job

So not much, still alot of work, lots of ideas to try out.

I was thinking about taking one of the 200mm top fans and put the hard drive and SSD

instead of the fan so i'll have a clear path of air for the GPU, your thoughts?

So I kicked it into high gear and finally got some progress.

Spent 4 hours trying to wire the fans to on/off switch only to find out that the switch I got was for power/reset and not an on/off one

Also the V8 had a fan speed controller, i cut it off because I can adjust the fan speed for Asus AI suite, and the less wires the batter, but after taking it off i noticed that the fan is always on 500rpm, and i couldn't even change it from thhe AI suite, so i had to make it as unoticable as possible, also placed some red LEDs on the bottom of the fan, so here's what came out of it...

Got hocked on that red spray and went crazy with it

And finally i replaced the green LEDs inside the GPU, I don't want to make a christmas theme lol

Enjoy!

Lazyman from West Coast Mods did a bunch of youtube videos on lighting a V8. That does give it a nice effect.

I am suprised your only the 2nd person I have seen post stuff on it.

So I screwed up a little, when I was working on the gpu I toke it completely apart so I can clean it, including the fan, but when I was putting the fan together I hit the ball bearings with my screw driver, dry didn't take any pics,I was hoping it didn't do any major damage, and it didn't the fan works but it makes a lot if noise for 40% speed.

my options are: get a new ball bearing, but don't know where, we don't have lots of shops for that kind of stuff

Or get a CPU heatsink and mount it on the gpu lol over kill much?

Or find a new fan, there's some on eBay but they don't ship to Israel.
