Project Devastator

Hello again, This project is a rebuild of my current colossus build. I have removed the hard drive tray so I can fit another 240mm rad at the bottom to go with the 240 rad at the top. I have also purchased a new res. I am also changing the colour scheme but i will keep that part a secret for the time being!. So here comes the pictures of what i have done so far.

Here is the bare chassis with the hard drive tray removed. It makes the case look even bigger I think.

I had to drill a couple of holes in the front of the case so i could fix the rad to the front with the radiator grill.

New res, gpu backplate and cpu block fitted. I think the res is a thing of beauty!

I already have the tubing and fluid purchased (colour to be revealed later). I am just waiting on my new radiator to arrive tommorow then I will have all the gear i need. I think i am going to buy some new compression fittings, i currently have the black dark nickle xspc fittings but they are not dark enough. So i think i am going to buy some of the matt black EK fittings and sell the ones i currently have.

Hope you like the look of the project so far.

Tony

Got my 2nd rad fitted last night and have planned the loop order. To make the tubing as neat as possible i am going with the following order

Res-Rad-pump-gpu-rad-cpu-res.

I know you shoud go from res to pump but the tubing is too tight if i do it that way and the pump top i have has a 100ml res built into it so the pump will never run dry.

I have had my new fittings deliverd today so should finish the build off tonight

If the pictures aren't doing the green justice, and I thought the green looked amazing in the pictures, i can't imagine what it's like in person

It is safe to say i've had a nightmare this evening, finished installing my hard drives and my new fan controller, go to boot my pc and get a "no boot drive available" so I do the usual troubleshooting and it still doest even show up in the bios, this is the case for my ssd and hdd. Tried them in other pc and hdd caddys and they wont even power on so looks like my mobo has wiped my 2 drives gutted!!, i plugged in my spare hdd and it boots fine so I have no idea what has gone wrong just that i've lost loads of data!!!

If anyone has had this or knows away to get data of hard drives that don't turn on please let me know, as i need my mass effect saves back. Anyway end of rant.

Here are some pics of the rig with the UV, not perfect pictures i will get some better ones over the weekend but these will do for starters.

Hi,

Ouch re: your hard drives, not sure what could have happened there!

The rest of the build is looking very good indeed, the green works well - even though we're not getting the full UV effect in the photos.

Tell me, your res, is that type easy to mount as you have or did you need to drill any new holes in the case? What sort of fixtures does such a res come with? I'd pretty much been looking exclusively at bay res's for my build as they're quite a neat solution. However I don't think they will work with my overall design so well, purely from a visuals perspective.

Cheers & best of luck with the continued build.

Very nice Tony

Love the UV green.

HDD problem, sorry no idea. Be sure to post up on the relevant areas of forums and i'm sure you'll get an answer.

Best guess would be cables.

My res is a phobya balancer 240 black nickle , it comes with 2 clamp fittings to hold the res up. I have had to drill 2 holes to fix the res but depending on your case you may not have to.
