Same issue for me, but I assumed you weren't as newbie as me My core just overheated after about 20seconds, but I actually got a POST display so I knew the card lived, otehrwise I may have cried. Glad you got it all sorted, I also had the memory pads on but the extra height ment the GPU was not in contact I think, so like you thermalpaste done it for me. It appears our problems were quite similar!

Yep, it just made me so annoying, I'm n00b too mate. But all was sorted. Overclock my rig as well, should be fun...

looking good, but I thhink you should do something else with the LCD poster. I hacked mine up and mounted it on a 5 1/2 bezel, one less cable sticking out of the PC

love the build dude, i really like the yellow and black you got going on inside. This case seems perfect for watercooling.

The only thing I have to say is the actual OC itself. the vcore looks too high, is it at 1.52?

overall that is a sick build!!! i love the 4870x2, i have 2 4850's in CF and they punish everything I throw at them and im running them at 1920x1200.
