Project...Custom-Aqua-PC.

it comes off if you just yank it.. :D Gently yank it, more a rocking about the place. The SB was easy enough, that crap they used on the NB was a pain to get off. Of course the professional way if safer, but I am impatient

It is the Maximus formula, exactly the same board with you Bungral. I have no idea where I can get it but a good plumber should have it I hope. Will let you know how I getting on. Very appreciate for that mate :worship::wavey:

Well that's just the method I used and it worked a treat as the board had never been used. People who have used their board which in turn has heated up the crap already on the whole assembly have found heating it up with say a hair dryer has worked for them.

Anything like that that gets very cold will work. Electrical fault spray would work ala this

I also found that by implamenting screwdriver and lots of force, you can remove the southbridge cooler and reattach it to the PC, probably not the best cooler going but saves getting another one I guess, or while you wait for your waterblock :D One downside, once the heatpipe is free of the heatsink, the screwdriver may continue along its path, which in my case was into my finger...

No probs...

All I would say is it comes off easier some than others. Mine was relatively easy but there are horror stories of people being too aggressive and pulling the NB IHS right off.

Basically just take your time and wiggle it keeping it nice and cold until frost forms on the NB HS.

......... Patience!!

This mini "project" I have to finish today before 11:00am, the race start @ 9:00am. Good luck to me...hehehe:D:D

Good luck with your race mate :) You run marathons or shorter distances?

Thanks mate, its a Surrey Badger Half-Marathon :D I did it in 2:22 hrs, the track so muddy, wetty, hilly...it was really hard but I manage to finish.... My feet feel hurt now so need a rest and try to finish my project.

Wow nice. I'm sure that you'd find your project very therapeutic after doing that distance. Your time was okay too...how long have you been running half marathons? My Mother-in-law runs them too and full marathons at the ripe old age of 53 :)
