Project: Coolsair!

As some of you may have see in a previous log, i was planning on using the shinobi XL or the switch 810 for a new rig.
Well good news for me i got a new job working for the British Transport Police, bad new, 8 weeks training 5days a week and i have no idea when i get paid
SO, the new plan, this project, is to take my current rig which is housed in a Corsair 650D and mod it to accommodate the new hardware. the name, CoolSair, well im using Corsair and Alphacool products throughout where i can as i love the quality of component that both companies produce.

So the plan is,
1. Mod the front of the case and the drive bays to accommodate the 240 alphacool Monsta Rad

2. Looking at modding the roof to accommodate a 360 Alphacool 45mm rad

3. Deciding whether i can fit a bay res or go with alternative.

4. Putting my 2nd 670 in and applying waterblocks

I feel that the hardest thing about this is gunna be the 360 rad in the roof. I know what i want to do, but whether i can get the finished product to look clean and crisp is debatable, mainly because of the recess that is in the roof atm.
here are some pictures of the rig as it stands atm;

the colour scheme is in the middle of a blue to red transition, waiting for whenever the Maximus V Formula finally gets released in the UK.
the first order of the the monsta rad and what ill be using to bolt it into the front will be arriving from specialtech at the start of this comming weeks so ill update as soon as it arrives. Going to try and do it like TTL did on this 6 hour shinobi mod challenge so ill be rewatching that a few more times!

Also, the PSU would look better the other way.
And, the Graphics card cables, why have you pulled the extra 2pins of the 6+2 through? You should take them back and hide them behind the motherboard tray as they arent connected at all to the other 6 pins

And you've over tightened the fans to the rad

PSU is gunna be Carbon wrapped, so dont worry bout stickers etc,
the red and blue is because it was all blue, and started to change it all red, thinking that asus would've release the Maximus V formula by now, the coolant wont change until i redo the loop, so MVF waterblock, hosing up new rads, and the GPU blocks, coolants gunna be black!
as for the 6+2 i wouldnt worry about them yet, theyre new i just put them in as a nessesity to get teh computer running, there is no cable tidying atm cause its all gotta come out to mod it next week.
the screws were overtight i accept that, BUT there was no damage to the rad, and theyre looser now anyway. that pic of the rad is from few weeks back

lol, fair enough. There wouldnt be damage to the rads because alphacool have stoppers on - but...in the pictures the fans are massively bent, which can be dangerous

I really like the eVGA 670 it would look really good in my new rig, sadly i hate the 670 PCB so i'll have to get the FTW version.

OK guys sorry for the wait but today is the day that the first stage of this mod can begin!
so this morning the goodys arrived from specialtech!

so started of by putting the whole package together, grill was a bit bend bet we sorted that out!

and one from the front, nice new Phobya fans eh?!

As the current rig stands before it gets stripped out!
watercooling in that consists of;
an XSPC X2O 750
Alphacool 240mm UT45
EK Supreme LTX CPU block

Thankfully managed to get it all out in one hit without needing to drain the loop as im not going to use the Monsta until i get the M5F in there and the GPU blocks.

some marking out ready for cutting!

two sides cut, not bad for a first time dremel user eh!

First test fit and lining up ready to drill holes in the case to bolt the grill in!

There we go, all bolted in and ready to roll, going to paint the bolts black so that they match a little, not really needed as the front panel of the 650d covers everything!
Shoutout to Pexon for suggesting E22 for the grill for the roof mod, will hopefully have that ordered up in the week and ill get the rad ordered two then we can get that ready for when the M5F finally gets released!

This is my first idea for the roof mod, what do you think?
the idea is to cut the whole sunken part of the roof out, bolt the grill to the case and then mount the rad to the new grill.

Nice build dude, I'm also planning to mod my 650d for a 240mm rad in the front. Do you think a 45mm thick rad in the top works with most mb? I'm not sure if there might be problems with some mbs.

well i currently have a 240mm ut45 in there if you look at the pics before the mod you can see how tight it is, you need to get your motherboard and measure to see if it is going to foul the heatsinks, ram and cpu power
