Project: Bruiser. Dual (possibly triple) loop TJ07

retrogamer1990

New member
Hello, and welcome to my Project Blog : Project Bruiser, which has been running for a while now, and I thought I would share with you :)

This is my first ever build and therefore first attempt at Modding, so advice would be greatly appreciated!

The components are as follows; Q9550 (E0), 4870×2, Asus P5Q-E, 4Gb Of GEIL, A Blu ray drive, 680w BFG PSU <---REPLACED WITH 1.2Kw Silverstone. and 1Tb Of storage. Oh, and an X-Fi Elite.

Why Project Brusier you ask? Simple. The colour scheme will be black and blue, a Black Silverstone Temjin TJ07 With Window and blue watercooling liquid with blue fans, although I may replace these.

I Intend to mount two Radiators, there is one loop right now with a 4870×2 waterblock and a CPU waterblock, the second loop will have NB + MOSFET blocks and maybe more later on.

I Will Keep this blog as up-to-date as possible and as filled with awesomeness as possible!

The Mods I have done so far are

  • New Custom window with smoked acrylic
  • Lian-Li Bezel Mod
  • Replaced all stock fans
  • Custom Hard Drive caddy
  • Watercooling (DUH :D)

Still to come are hopefully:

  • Powdercoated internals (should have done it first really...but oh well)
  • triple rad roof mod
  • custom TJ07 'Floor' (i.e cut holes in it)
  • Custom Faceplate.
  • Dual Loop
  • MurderMod Sleeving

so far, it looks like this:

please give me any and all comments!

okay a couple of small updates (nothing major...yet)

I forgot about this one actually, I upgraded to a Q9550 a few days ago, from my e8400,

heres the quad:

and also, I fitted the nexus memory coolers which I think look great, although i have lost some of the pimp factor that the dominator cooler had, and unfortunately, both dont fit.

what do you think? opinions please!

okay I wont be doing much for a while becuase of a few things, but i will still answer any questions or comments made :) this is becuase

a) Still waiting on a few bits (*** is that dremel?!!)

b)Replacing the fans (seemingly an easy task, but no...) which i would have done already to stop my ears bleeding becuase of the thermaltake crap i put in, requires i drain the whole system...

c)...and there is no point in that to have to put it back together, to then take it apart AGAIN to send it to the powdercoaters, and add the new loop (yay)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

okay, a quick update for you guys!

Its in absolute bits atm, so no lovely pics of the coolant ;)

wow man, great rig you have there, also the tubbing, wow i never saw a tubbing that looked so good, its clear + uv reactive coolant? or are both blue? (tube / coolant).

the cable management is truly kickass man, and wow Zipties :D they work pretty good with the fittings.

also wich tubbing you are using man tygon? and about the OD / ID of the tubbing can you tell me later? i loved the collor of it, hope it gets good with red (im planning of making a cosmos S with some themed colors (secret yet ).

again, wow look at that rig :o:o lol

and omg!! you have a dremel lol im having a tool envy right now, i think im the only one in the forum without one

thx for the pics mate.

Hmm... I was thinking white tubing for my watercooling but that looks awesome.

Nope. Never got round to getting one, although it would be useful.

Ah, I see you have reached 15 posts, nice build :) I really love the lighter blue instead of the standard dark blue. Makes the build a bit more unique.

I do not know if you still want to correct it, but I'd think it would look better when you integrate the external 3.5" bezel with the already large single bezel. This way you do not see that 3.5" standing out.

Although I'm not an expert on this topic, I think triple loop would be pure overkill. Your nb/sb/mosfets really do not generate enough heat to justify the power consumption, price, noise and room the loop demands.

Oh and how did TT crap make you drain your loop for switching fans? Or did I misread? :p

thanks! :D

the 3.5" bezel is not a bezel, its part of the case, so cant integrate that.

triple loop is more for aesthetics. anyway, that would only be if i got another 4870x2 if the prices come down due to teh 295 - so one loop for CPU, one for NB/SB/M'fets, and one for both 4870x2's :D

and the TT fans SUCK ASS so when i drained it for this mod i switched 'em for yates. didnt do it speshully! seriously though NEVER BUY THERMALTAKE!

Looking forward to seeing pics after it's been powdercoated. :D

I think the colour scheme has given me some more inspiration.

Also, if you want to do posts with multiple quotes in them you can click the multi-post icon on the posts you want to quote and then hit post reply. They're loaded into the editor. :D

I just worked out i could have a quintuple (FIVE!) loop! in the bottom could go a 360 rad, a 120 rad, AND a 240 rad, and the roof can gold up to a slim triple rad, and there are dual 92mm radiators availible for the rear! OMFG! ideas brewing! ;);)

small update, no pics as yet though.

got me

a 1200w Silverstone Strider power supply,

another radiator,

another reservoir,

Cable sleeve in post,

misc watercooling bits in post,

another reservoir, another pump, more tubing, more coolant & a few other bits to order on friday (i get paid on friday! )

powdercoating to be done tomorrow!

ITS GONNA BE A GOOD WEEK!

Gah... Gah... *gurbles* how much did you say? How are you going to route all those hoses through the case properly?

And did you win the lottery or something? xD

Looking forward to the pics :)

I have a trick up my (wizards) sleeve :D for the hose routing, and nope, no lottery win! just organized fund management. i prefer to spread out my purchases a bit so im not bored till next payday. and if you are wondering, i work 12 hours a week @ 5.85 an hour. I work part time at morrisons, so dont tell me I'm a rich ******* okay! call me that in 10 years. /rant!

Chill out :p I'm currently working my back end off at 4.45/hour, also around 12 hours a week. But also with a fulltime (40h+) bachelor study at the same time. I just tend to spend my money on ... well, recently my new rig and this week a new laptop, which I found more useful than a WC setup which I also considered.

But as said, looking forward to the pics :)
