Project Black Ice

Ok I'm having 2nd thoughts about the colour scheme inside the case.

Originally I was going to go for Blue lights, fans and sleeving at the bottom with Red lights, fans and sleeving at the top..but I'm wondering if I should be aiming for a more industrial look?

I was considering buying some Chrome braiding, but I have no idea what colour case lights i'd use with that :s

Stick with what i've got or twist?

Either way it's not really going to matter, the chrome braiding will reflect any lighting present in the case anyway. As far as having light to compliment the braiding I think that red, blue or orange would be slick.

Good stuff, I didn't like the combo anyway :p

The chrome sounds sweet, I have also seen carbon sleeving which is sweet.

Ice is white, but black ice is invisble so its quite tough to say, but, maybe go with chrome and white lights might give an ice feel???

That's what I was thinking. My choices was either

White - representing ice

UV (Black light) - representing black (but it might show up lots of dust if there's no UV reactive stuff in there)

Blue - representing icey/water

The black light will be purple.

White = white.

Blue is blue but it doesn't suit the name at all. Blck ice is not visible and blue for the sake of water is tenuous at best (imo).

Can you get glossy black sleeving? Would white led light reflecting off it give it an icy feel? How about frosting the window and just going with white?

The windowed parts of the case are actually mesh rather than plexi, so there's no possibility of etching any icy effects into it.

I really want to try white, I'm just unsure as it may just look like I've shoved a lightbulb in there. I suppose I can only give it a go. My only other idea is to mix white and blue tubes. The white will undoubtedly be the dominant colour, it'll just have a blue shade in places

You might not like this but it might work... You can get frost effect paint, maybe use that to make the inside of the case look like its coated in ice, perhaps the lights will shine off it like ice? Could be good, could be naff. Just throwing it out there

Ok just a minor update, but I've sent this design over to the laser cutters for the side panels:

And this is roughly how the insides are going to be laid out:

Has the mrs donated nail polish for the board and GPU or she gonna make you buy your own? :p

LOL nah, I've got some silicon spray kinda stuff form last time I used a pelt. Its pretty good as once its on and dried, you cant really see it :D

The most worrying thing is that I've estimated the mains power consumption of this rig to be about 1000w (400w phase, 400w main pc, 200w pelt) :s

I'm still undecided about the colours guys... should I go for:

Silver braiding, Silver fans, white lights

or

White braiding, black + white fans, white lights

or

something else?

im liking the idea of the White braiding, black + white fans, white lights

just seems that bit different to the norm, but thats just my opinion.
