wow! are the cut out spaces filled with perspex?

really impressed with how nice that looks!

Not at the moment they're not. But I'm either going to be mounting smoked plexi or mesh behind the cuts :D

Just a tiny update to keep you guys all in the loop :D

I've sent the case away to be powder coated inside and out by our friends over at WatercoolingUK. This will help to cover up all the drilling and laser cutting that's been done to the case :)

I've also had a new FSP Booster X3 PSU delivered which will power the peltier, pump, radiator fans and fans for the phase change unit. The idea of this is to keep the power-on for the cooling totally separate from the PC power on, so i can switch the phase/pelt on before the PC and allow things to get into the negatives ;)

Unfortunately the FSP Booster needs to detect 5v before it will turn on, so i modded it a bit so i can turn it on with a switch instead:

I also gave myself a 240v shock while in the process....that's #5 in my life and i'm actually getting to quite like them now ;) (NOT)

:o 240v's, that's not good at all. Especially when it takes such a minute amount to cause heart arrhythmia or even worse....death.

Voltage ok - current baaaaaaaad

I took like 30,000 volts in a physics class, its the ampage (luckily very low) that does you over

Looking good so far mate :)

Yeah, I think I've been quite lucky in that most times I've only had my arm thrown backwards by a shock. I did take quite a knock back with a 1kw Tagan unit tho that I was tinkering with.

took 670V from my cold cathode's inverter a while back

burnt some nice holes into my thumbs

out of curiosity, what components will be cooled by each system?

Phase change - CPU

Peltier & Water Cooling - GPU

Water Cooling - NB

:)

Sweet project Jim, I'm really liking it. The custom laser cut side panels add that really nice finishing pro touch to it, bravo!

I wish I could get back in to the modding scene, it's so fun!!!

haha on the topic of people being fried...my electrician mate like to wire gizmos up and this one time was wiring up a number of lights to a bunk bed. silly man earthed onto the metal frame (which he was leaning on) and got a lovely helping of 240V down the arms and through the chest

I missed this thread, the build is looking awesome so far Jim. Love the side panel!

I vote for silver fans with strong white LED's in there?
