Setting up section 2. This stuff had to arranged again and again, then once ore for luck to get all the cables to reach where they`re needed AND allow access to CD bays, fan intake path, PSU switches etc
Errr...I think i`ve ran out of pics. DOH! I dont seem to have any pics of the "clever" bit. Fool. Back with more later...section 3 will appear
Looking good M8, is it a two compartment case for each item I.E M/B on one and PSU/Hard Drives/ roms on second with separate cooling for each so there is less heat build up in the M/B case and using wood means no condensation problems.
There`ll be better pics tomorrow when theres better light, but basically i`m splitting my computer up into bits as Sacha said. All the stuff that generally stays the same is on one board (its heavy!!) and the fancy bit on the other (mobo et al)
I`ve already noticed a drop in my GPU temp at idle, which is a good sign, and due to the way the mobo is being set up (will be apparent tomorrow) its easy to switch cooling and/or insulate for it.
Also pretty easy to move if I can find some cheap handles, i`ll be adding them. Homebase was extortion.
The "clever" bit... the holes in the rod above had M4 bolts pushed/screwed through, which were in then bolted to the 1st layer of risers. I need the extra clearance
2/3 of the board:
The middle row is missing because I didnt quite get all the alignments right. The middle one fixes to the mobo so that when the mobo is placed, theres support for the middle of it
I`ve gone from not having any pictures to..err...losing some! GRRRR
M8 Looking good but i think you would be better putting in a water res in the loop from the card block that you will chill, as this will keep the water chilled for much longer, keep up the good work as it starting to come together.
