Problems with OCCT

Hello guys,

I'm overclocking my 3770k again and I'm using OCCT for my tests and I encountered an issue which happens frequently that says that my CPU Core 0 exceeded the max temperature and reached 117.5C. Of course this is some bug with the program and all the other program that used, HWmonitor, Realtemp indicates that all my core are below 75C .

My question is, its safe to turn of the alarm and security measures of this core ?
And this is a known issue with OCCT ?

I had a new problem with OCCT, yesterday I was doing some testing and before the test complete 1 hour the test stopped but no crash, no BSOD, and a message on OCCT saying that an error was detected.

What could be those errors?
I tried to reinstall the program but no sucess.

That just means its not a stable overclock.


As for the OP temp issue Ive never seen that before?

Nice to know that I thought it was some bug or something like that.
I tested on Prime 95 for about 6h and no problem with that voltage, but the OCCT is more stressful test, right?

Another question that I have, its better to have the LLC lower and a voltage a bit higher on my CPU or maybe a lower manual CPU voltage and LLC with a higher setting?

In the moment I'm using LLC level 4 which is Ultra High with my clock at 4.3GHz and my manual CPU voltage at 1.12V.

Yeah, i watched your guide for overclocking 1155 processors sometime ago and helped me alot to understand the basics of overclocking and metodology of working.
I only used linpack for testing my overclocks, using all logical cores and with AVX and my temperatures are higher than using Prime95 to test it.

Today I'm going to leave it testing over night with 1.12V on the CPU Manual Voltage and see if it's stable. My motherboard has 5 levels of LLC, I'm using level 4, you think it's ok for my overclock as my voltages are not so high ? Or I should try to lower the level of LLC ?

Load line calibration is just to help with vdroop. If the volts are stable under load then its doing its job. If the overclock is then unstable you need to look at the vcore or other subsidiary volts

It happened again.
I tested my CPU with 4.3GHz and Manual CPU Voltage at 1.12V with LLC level 4 and after almost 15 hours of testing with OCCT linpack, test was stopped and a message saying that my CPU Core #0 temperature was 117.5C.
It's the third or fourth time that this happens to me and the temperature is always 117.5C :wacko::wacko:

What could be the problem? What should I do ? I wanted to do a validation test of 24 hours with OCCT Linpack, I should try with other program ?

What you guys suggest to me ?

I found another bug with OCCT which is if I try to run it with EVGA Precision X active it will blue screen my PC no matter what. Super weird.
