Hey guys,
This may be the first of many noob questions so hope I don't annoy you all too much..
Tried to update my BIOS. It was on version F3. Gigabyte have F4, F5, F6, and an F7 beta available for download.
Problem is, the F6 and F7 ones have a note saying you have flash with their "@bios" software, or the command-line exe that comes with the bios download. Well the @bios program crashes every single time (on XP, and yes I have the latest @bios, disabled hyper-threading beforehand like the readme says, and closed all other progs), no matter if I choose to flash from a file or I tell it to download the new bios itself. And the command-line program does nothing at all, whether I use the .bat file it comes with or I use it manually in a cmd window.
So the only way I can flash is by using the Q-Flash feature inside the Bios itself. However this doesn't recognise F6 and F7 as valid files, which explains why they put a note saying I had to use the other methods. So I've used Q-Flash to get to version F5 but cannot go any more recent.
Is there anything I else I can try?
