Problem

Hi guys I just built my self a semi new rig but have ran into a problem, I've added 2 water cooled r9 290 to the system but after a couple minutes of the system running the screen turns off but the PCs seems to be still running

It's really annoying me that I can't fix it so if anyone has any ideas it would be much apreciated

Thanks

Can you get CCC up or gpu-z to see if you are running in crossfire? have you updated to the newest driver?what are your power settings at in the windows control panel I think those are the things you should try 1st ;)

Do a full removal of drivers then install the newest ones if you haven't already, 15.6 beta driver was released a couple days ago.

I've just updated the drivers

Just got into CPUZ and their are not in crossfire it only shows one card

My nzxt cam software is showing the temps on gpu 1 is fine but on gpu rises quickly up to 99.99999

So I'm quessing it's turning off because that's overheating

Think I'm going to take the water block off to see if it need cleaned

Does that sound right ?

You may have an air lock there buddy but I could be wrong

EDIT: If you could post some pictures of your setup one of us may be able to help you more :)

Just cleaned the blocks there was a little bit of build up. But noticed when I bleed it this time it bleed a hell of a lot quicker so there maby was a air lock last time

, just leaving it to circulate for a few hours when I'm away to get rid of any bubbles and will test it later and let you know how I got on

I would turn your CPU block around there matey so you get a cleaner look and shorten your pipes a little :)

Looks to me like you are using the 'out' port on the cpu block as the inlet. Not that big of a deal, though it would make the loop look a bit cleaner and allow you to shorten some tubes :)

As far as I'm aware I'm using the one nearest the centre which should be the inlet ?

Yea I agree the it would look better upside down, might need to put a sticker on the logo tho as my ocd would annoy me being upside down :)

What the boys said dude... I've never done watercooling, nor have any experience with it, but still see the aesthetics and looks of a watercooled rig.

If you do what they boys said that would make it look cleaner, but I understand if you aren't that comfortable doing them shorter... other than that, a very nice and neat build you've got there mate. Well done! :)

Yea I 100% agree with you and the other guys I will be turning the block round and shorting the pipes

Just my first time water cooling so learning from all my mistakes :)

I really think there's no need for you to turn the block upside down. My rig has an ek supremacy evo in it and the left port is 'in', the right one is 'out'. It's also engraved just under the port, you should verify that or the manual prior to switching it upside down, just to be sure :)

Isn't there a manual for it though?, just like in case it doesn't show on the actual block for some odd reason?... like when you look at the power, reset switches etc in the motherboard manual :p

You have done a good job there dude we all make small mistakes it's a learning curve albeit expensive. I had a bit of a problem last night when I notice my coolant level had dropped by 5mm it turns out I had a leak from the LED holder in my Bay/res so I drained the system and put in a new led holder apparently its a common fault with Xspc bay/res's. How are your gpu temps any better now :)

It's all in the fun of water cooling :p

Yea I got it tested and is working perfectly now the temps have gone way down and are staying stable so it has stopped cutting out so its seemed to have worked.

Only problem now is I had to redownload the drivers and when is was downloading it failed and somehow removed the usb drivers so my mouse and keyboard have stopped working :(

So need to get hold of a PS2 keyboard and mouse and download them again
