problem with audio on my new monitor :(

i got a IIyama Prolite E2274HDS 22" Widescreen LED Business Monitor for christmas and just tried connecting it to my ps3. im outputting from the ps3 using hdmi and then connecting my 2.1 speakers to the monitor via 3.5mm jack. this worked fine on my old tv. audio came through speakers video came through the tv. on this new monitor though it uses the built in speakers and i cant turn them off

any ideas how to fix this??

Should be an option to choose the audio output in the menu, other than that, Your stuck mate.

just did a lil google search bro bad news thats not a speaker output its input for audio in case ur not using hdmi

Where's the output? There should be an output unless there are speakers on the monitor.

I looked that monitor up and seen nothing listed as an audio output. Just that it has built in HD speakers.

right all sorted now

sorry for not replying earlier but its been a busy 2 days

. i got some adapter from maplin that uses the old red,white,yellow connecter and converts it to 3.5 mm jack for my speakers
