[Problem]Razer Tiamat 7.1 Mic issue

So, I've bought a Razer Tiamat 7.1 Elite headset, and the ASUS Xonar Phoebus card with it.

The sound is great, but the computer doesn't pick up the microphone.

More precisely, it detects it, and can sort of see some volume on it, but nothing loud enough to be heard (Mumble Sound Wizard)

Mumble is not the problem. I also tried the Windows program for Sound Recording, and didn't hear anything on full volume.

The volume control for the Tiamat has mic set to max and I have set the mic to max in the sound card driver.

Where's the mic cable plugged in?
If it is detected but not loud enough to be heard properly, my guess would be it's a setting somewhere - rather than hardware related.

Take out the soundcard and try it through the onboard headers instead, see if there's any difference.

Am I not right in saying the box for the headset is an external DAC/AMP/sound card?
If so it could be conflicting the Xonar - so again - try taking that out.
